Edit: I believe the american duo that's playing the other Brazilian team are the favorites to win it all. Talita/Larissa were favored by betting sites, followed by Walsh Jennings/Ross, Ludwig/Walkenhorst and Agatha/Barbara.

They won 5 tournaments in 2016. In the end the daily/tournament shape is all the matters though.

470M is a 3 horse race CRO 1st, GRE 2nd, AUS 3rd coming into medal race with CRO being some 10 points ahead. Other nations can't make it in top3 mathematically so we can see some drama here with some people helping their friends over others.

Loads of rigged matches. Not sure, why it is still olympic. And very easy to see why the pros refused to take part this year, even though they were allowed for the first time.

The amateur boxing association is a joke, there were warning of corruption before the olympic and the result seems to go in that way. (could also be incompetence I guess) I also love the fact that man can no longer have helmet because having helmet was "harmfull for their healt" (because fuck logic) while women still have helmet to protect themself.

Taken from: http://breakingmuscle.com/olympic-weightlifting/10-myths-about-olympic-weightlifting-that-need-to-stop People also believe in the corollary, i.e., that you should fatten up to lift the big ones. Only muscle can move your bones and hence move a weight. Fat does not help in any of this. What does happen is that for you to gain enough muscle to lift at world-class levels you will probably have to put up with a little bit of adipose tissue while you're gaining that weight. Lifters are slightly fatter (men from 10 to 17% depending on weight category) than those in many other sports. This is because more muscle is needed to lift. And as you grow that muscle the body gets more inefficient at putting on extra bodyweight. A skinny person can put on weight with little added fat. Someone already quite muscular will have to put up with more fat as they grow. As it is, it is only the super heavyweight categories of weightlifting that show an excess amount of fat. This does not concern them too much because there is no weight limit for them. As long as their mobility is not compromised, it is not much of a problem. That said, I certainly believe some super heavies have gone past the point of diminishing returns and should get themselves in a little better shape. Sounds reasonable. I'm watching the women's Basketball match between the USA and Japan. Japan has got a mismatch on every single position. Some of the US players look like giants in comparison to the Japanese girls. But Japan is playing pretty well. They'll lose, but they show some nice plays.
