Nah, the LeMonde reporter said he "extrapolated" that from what the coach said. He only said Brazil's a weird country.

I don't realy get the 1500 mt race, how can the winner be 18 second behind the world record in a 4 minute race?

Is it just a race strategy or something?

Edit: the bronze by the US is their first medal won by a women on a distance of more than 400m since the Mexico game of 68 according to the announcer.

Announcers said they ran the first lap super slow. Said first lap is usually mid 60 seconds and it was like 76 tonight.

USA fails to medal in men's 110 hurdles for first time (excluding boycotted Moscow Olympics). One American had a shot at silver or bronze but tripped on the last hurdle

I think some track and Field records are bizarre and athletes of old were clearly on some superior sort of PEds. There are some marks thar seem untouchable like womens 100 and 200 metres. That womens 1500m Record also seemed very weird.

They said woman's 1500m record holder's coach was arrested in Spain for something related to PEDs but that she (Dibaba) had yet to fail a test. However they said there was lots of skepticism surrounding her because of the coach

Well, one think to take away from these Olympics is that Brazilians can't handle being the favorites.

Two wrong serves after 10+ points in the fifth set doesn't happen unless the team is really crumbling under the pressure.

The girls have enough credit though, no one here expected a gold from them in London.
