A horrible decision to sack Ancelloti and bring Benitez from the start. If truly Perez wanted Pep, oh well, thats like asking Yoda to train Kaylo Ren. The solution to most of the Real squad problems is very simple on paper: bench one of the BBC and play with another midfielder. It worked like a charm the second half of 2014. The problem is that Perez's hand is very obvious here, forcing to play with the unsuitable Bale, far after his prime Ronaldo and the pet criminal Benzema, and also trying to fit the new toy James in there, without anyone defending properly.
About Zidane, a large unknown. On the one hand one of the smartest players in the game's history, initially at least the players will respect him but he is very unexperienced. Pep was also without main stage experience when he got Barca in his hands, but Barca is an easier working environment, without a megalomaniacal president steering and hostile media stirring in everything. Also he had arguably the best squad in the world to work with! Zidane has a good squad that cannot defend which is why Benitez did not work out. Tried to do something he is not. Like you said playing an extra midfielder is the only way to work the Real Madrid system due to Bale and Ronaldo will track back in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. Time will tell i guess but Real Madrid fans will be happy now, they have a club legend managing them...how long before they start getting on his back though? Or worst the idiot in charge of the whole thing getting frustrated. Thats an unfair assessment, he made that squad what it was. You have to give him credit for that. He didnt just pop into an all conquering powerhouse. The Rijkjaard team was well on the decline. Would achieve literally nothing because Arsenal doesn't spend big money? They spend enough money to get what he needs. I dont recall him really breaking banks anywhere. He buys expensive players sure, but aside from Ibra I cant think of any real flops + Show Spoiler +(and Ibra wasnt much of a statistical flop except his bad run. He just didnt want to fit in the system, not be top dog and all that and that doesnt work for Pep hes super anal about that I am led to believe.) edit: wait, I just remembered that Chgrynski fellow, he was probably the worst pickup. He wont go there, but not because they wont spend the money. Well you don't really need to spend money when you have Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets etc.

Guess Alves was one. But the basis of his team, was there when he took it over which was Messi Xavi Iniesta Busquets Puyol. I will only judge pep management from when he comes to the premier league anyway if he can put "his style" of possession based football to work in England and win titles with it then i will be impressed.
I think you guys have some serious memory issues, or you just dont know.
Pep came in and gambled like a madman. He shipped of Ronnie who was on the decline sure, but still the franchise player, he got rid of Deco and some others and shipped off all the ego's including eventually Etoo who he had to keep despite not wanting him (They made it work but it wasnt going to last). All these "core" players you are talking about were not world beaters when he put them in the spotlight. Xavi had been around for a decade and considered an average to above average midfielder as far as top teams went. He was behind Ludovic Guily if Rijkjaard wanted to run a 4 2 3 1 of sorts + Show Spoiler + Iniesta and Messi were promising, Busquets was unheard of, Pique was lounging on the United Bench. Dani Alves was burning it up in Sevilla (he paid good money for him) but was untested at the top level. Then he brought in Role players like Keita (huge) and Adriano etc.
I dont think Pep need anyones "judgement". Whether he does well in the premier league or not will obviously matter, there is no doubt about that. You have to be successfull everywhere. But he does not NEED the premier league as much as the Premier League needs him at this time, because frankly the top teams really need an injection of something that isnt what the current bosses are peddling. Because frankly for the self proclaimed best league in the world. Its elite teams are garbage.

Funniest possible scenario imo would be him taking the Stoke job.
They do actually have three players he has managed before (bojan, afellay and shaqiri), and Mark Hughes has played for both Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

whats up with suarez and the keeper, they seems to dislike each other very much and now messi
keeper def seemed to step on messi's ankle on purpose

Januzajs loan deal most likely terminated. CAN HE RESCUE ASTON VILLA? : D Interesting move by Dortmund to part ways with 2 of their substitutes for the wings. That leaves us with Ramos who played lw a few times and Pulisic, 17yr old american youth national, who's going to practice with the pros but is planned to play for the youth team.
Sounds bad at first but I absolutely love the move. Whoever joins us can get used to the team. During the summer we'll lack preparation time because of the EURO and if we make a move for somebody and Tuchel can start forming the squad asap that's something I support 100%.

I think the ref had some poor decisions in the first half, but he's handling it ok in the second. Espanyol probably deserved at least one more red card in this game..

Eh I don't think he made bad calls, but there was a semi fight every 30 secs for a period there where he nearly lost control.
edit: 4-1 Neymar

LOL that offside call.
Well he did give a bunch of cards with every one of those fights. There's not much more he can do. It's up to the players to be professional and cool down or receive red cards.
Man Suarez just can't score today haha.
2 goals 2 assists by Messi today. I guess against 9 they should've scored more but Suarez botched a few.

Suárez was truly awful today but Messi and Neymar are beyond godlike.

This year no, Messi deserves it, but next year could definitely be the year.

How does Messi deserve it more than Neymar?

How does Messi deserve it more than Neymar? Because he is Messi. He is the more popular of the 2 and this is why he will receive it. Balon d'or is worth less than the dirt under my shoes these days.
