That is at least from my experience with fucked up sleep cycles. Maybe it is different for someone who has an easier time falling asleep.

Opinions on 5-HTP? From what I am reading it could be a better choice than Melatonin.

There seem to be conflicting information over here on whether I can buy Melatonin OTC or not. Can't find anything on Amazon so far that's shipped domestically which would suggest I can't. I guess I could just get a bottle on my first US trip though. Along with the usual stack of OTC drugs ...

I won cities (1 million+ population) in Grade 9 with a 10:32 at 3k, and my normal run at meets was around 11 minutes, which is just shy of 37 minutes for a 10k if I ran at that pace (never did, but I'd probably run a 38-39min 10k if I extrapolate my 5k). Back then I ran all the time, and weighed like 115lbs at 5'9". Someone who weighs 80kg though, that is nuts. Also my squats and other strength training have a noticeable impact on my cycling wattage (negative impact). I'm curious to see how you manage that goal with your other goals. edit: The crude but fairly accurate formula of 2sec/mile/kg of weight being added to a body (after-all, a person who weighs 120lbs vs 180lbs at different points in his life, while being fit in both cases is going to have more or less the same VO2 max, and it's fairly in line with the fact that larger cyclists don't have higher VO2 maxes than smaller ones which can be seen by looking at time trial vs climbing results, and seeing that the time trial cyclists are only like 10-20lbs higher, and generate a couple percentage higher FTP. So using this formula and comparing his 123lb weight to 176lb weight... That would suggest that if Kenenisa Bekele put on the weight to become like you, while still maintaining fitness, he would run a 10k in over 37 minutes instead of in over 26 minutes. This is the most elite 10k runner with superb genetics and extreme and effective regimen. I'd love to be proven wrong ^^. edit 2: oh shit, your goal is 45 mins, not 40 minutes. Okay, I take it back, I misread it the first time... That's more realistic.

No idea if that's possible, we'll see ! Sub 45min seems really more than doable 1000lbs seems a lot harder ![]()

Yeah, 900lbs 1rm is like chump territory, and 1000lb seems so far away. I feel like that 900lb mark is where most people stall out and really need to figure their bodies out before they make progress. 360 deadlift, 315 squat, and 225 pound bench press all seem fine with several months of hard work (if I see people doing those weights at my gym, I'm like meh, could be bodybuilders, casuals, people with pretty good genes who don't work out... If I see 10-20% higher in any of those weights, I think "these are some hella strong dudes", well maybe not the bench, 275lb+ bench is where it starts to get really impressive to me)... Don't know where you go from here though. Maybe it's just me, since that's the 1rm territory I started to struggle at. Or it could be the MMO effect, where everyone lower level than you is a noob, and everyone higher than you has no life. Also I edited the post you replied to because I misread your original post.

sort of got some ambition for this year , finally. i think i'm aiming at doing the Teach in Japan thing, whether it be in a couple months time or in 6 months time so getting myself in respectable shape for that is going to be my driving force. i suffer a lot of confidence issue because of my body , a naturally very ugly bodyshape in my opinion due to very low base/natural muscle and a tall torso (but shapes well with training) . and so i respond well emotionally to when i start to look good. so it is important to me to look good and feel good about that , if i am going to be standing infront of many saltry nice young people my typing job pays verrrrrrrrrrrry little (literally half minimum wage...) but since i don't want to leave the house and do a normal job for minimum wage, i am okay with that but should still keep looking for opportunities to do online work that pays even £1/hour better than this does. consequently, i am going to look into giving Skype english conversation lessons, and that will also help with my daily confidence. also i will be able to do Skype japanese language exchange , since i want to learn the language because of my typing job i may be able to apply for government support as they may consider me as self employed, which will give me a massive boost in income/support (they may pay half my rent). i need to sort out the evidence etc for that and hand it in soon my everyday routine is going to be something like, 7am shower and drive to gym, 10am typing work, 6pm study japanese as you all know very well, i burn out very very very easily and quickly . so, i'm not sure how to deal with that. it's like, when i sleep my brain doesnt reset enough so repetitive actions effect me more emotionally than they seem to with other people. perhaps? i think a first step to challenging that could be to download many popular albums for my mp3 player and make sure i play something new every day instead of the same 2 albums every day for weeks straight. for starters, i got 6+ months worth of JP's and Neal's roleplay/dnd shows to catch up on, so i should organise that. my diet at the moment is going to be salad with coleslaw and no cheese. i know coleslaw is not good but it keeps me going. i'll get a few salad sauces too to mix it up. and frozen pork steaks which are pretty cheap here. and, crucially, French Bread (the metre long sticks of bread) that is soooooo nice, and fills you up if the rest of the salad didn't (lettuce is actually shockingly filling, if you didn't know!). this diet is very inexpensive, barring the cost of milk. ingrediant list + Show Spoiler + coleslaw lettuce cooked beetroot!!! (not sure how healthy it is) occaisionally pickled onions a tomato here and there french bread!!!! (that's what we call it in england) cucumber (shockingly tasty if it's fresh-ish, i never used to find it interesting in the past) also, eggs (gone off them a bit, had too many) tinned tuna/salmon with microwaved potatoes, to get some extra protein and fish oil in me microwaved potatoes with salad instead of french bread milk (i got protein powder to go with it, for now) i do have mixed frozen veg to go with the pork/eggs but never usually bother also, decaff tea and coffee is great "chillout" food as for gaming and "wasting" time? well, i've been away from the computer for 3 weeks and going to keep this momentum going. i don't need to prove anything to myself in dota anymore, i know how to win now, it's just a case of how many more weeks i want to put into it, and i don't want to put any more weeks into it (my profile last 3 months https://www.dotabuff.com/players/114635809/heroes?date=3month&metric=played ) . so, emotionally i feel comfortable that i won't trip up and get back into it. notably, i've got work to wake up to every day now (i book in my own time slots in advance) so accidentally having a late night and playing 35 straight games just can't happen because of that well, i guess that's me for now. i was gonna put this as a blog but it's really not interesting so lol, suckers!

We called those one arm rows "rippers" back in my high school gym and they were an accessory to barbell work to be sure. However, should a bar not be available, one arm dumbbell rows like those in the video will suffice. This, just wanted to say kroc rows (I do them standing up, not on a bench) are one of my new favorites. I do them mainly to combat office shoulder pain. Works wonders. Also great for grip strength and as a DL accessory.

I'll reiterate that unless you're exiting the beginner/intermediate stages of lifting, the specific exercise matters less than simply getting it done. Given that most lifters fail to incorporate much if any free weight row work into their routines, I'd say that you're ahead of the game no matter which exercise iteration you choose.
