Just go to a tailor before buying anything and ask about the whole process. They will be very happy to help you give them money

Once I finish school and move, finding a good tailor will be the first thing on my to-do list. Getting suits and business casual clothing to fit as a 6'2 260 lb man with tree trunk legs and a 38 inch waist is nigh impossible without significant alterations.

Yeah big legs are a bitch sometimes.

For jeans i've had good luck with Levi 541s and chinos/khakis dockers alpha athletic fit. But yeah, nothing beats proper tailoring.

Was too sick to get out of bed thursday/friday (congestion, headaches, nausea, etc), played rugby through the sickness on saturday, felt well enough for work/gym today and ended up PRing my hang snatch at 129kg in between boughts of coughing my lungs up:

Do you ever hit a pr while in good shape? Every time you post to tell us you hit a PR you always feel like shit.

Only time i feel good and hit PRs is usually competition. Outside of that they pretty much exclusively sneak up on me when I'm least expecting them.

Back when I used to push myself on deads, I did my best work while on cough syrup

Has anyone had any experience with jogging after massive weight gain? In high school and college I hovered around 62kg at 1.75M. I did 3 half marathons in high school without too much trouble. 10 years and 15kg later... going 3 times around the park is murder. Tonight my quads gave out before my lungs did. Pretty funny.

When I jog its a race to the finish for either my knee or my lower back to give out first. I'm 32 years old, get on my disability level.

After 5 years of powerlifting I built myself into an acceptable runner (88kg, 1.7m height). Jogging still sucks though, but I vividly remember having to stop after 1000m at any speed because of calf pain lol.
Edit: religiously stretch calves and massage as deep as possible to avoid periostitis, specially in the beggining and if you are running on concrete.
|
If you haven't been jogging regularly for the past 10 years it's going to take time to get back into marathon shape! Add 15kg and yeah, it'll be that much harder...
Then, you probably did a fair bit of running on a track vs harder concrete now?
Getting old has it's issues but you also have to account for the little things that are different too.

Related, now I have to be concerned about chafing my inner thighs when I run... After being a lean runner type my whole life, my thighs touching when I stand is still a bizarre sensation.

Pretty funny. i gained 8 kg of muscle over a 5 year period doing a simple 5X5 Stronglifts.com squat-based program.
i find lactic acid buildup is a big problem when i'm run and i'm not near my 5X5 squat max. over 5 years i went on and off the program several times. Before i gained any weight i had this issue. i think its related to my muscles just not being in peak efficient condition.

Yeah, you know, there's some things that straight lifting just doesn't get. All these teeny tiny stabilizing muscles.
