Perhaps in Atlanta, where Dimitroff is GM and Pioli is an assistant GM. Wouldn't surprise me to see them hire McDaniels.
Pioli single-handedly ruined Kansas City, and I don't even understand why Atlanta would want him anywhere in their organization. But once you see that the current GM is a former Patriot, it makes a little bit more sense. People from the Patriots organization tend to stick together, and there's one thing that's true about almost all of them: they better thank Tom Brady for their job every night, cause without him they'd be way out of the NFL by now.
McDaniels is shit and nobody in NE actually likes him, he loses more games with his play calling than he wins. Good luck to any team that hires him, NE will be better without him.
Pioli also improved that roster every year he was there as far as I can tell. The contract to Cassell was terrible and the HC didn't end up being right, but he made a pretty good rebuild and added a lot of talent to a pretty terrible team. I am not sure what more you could want from him.
I love a lot of those players on SF, sad to hear how terrible things are being run.
Pioli was decent in KC. He wasn't great, but he wasn't as bad as GoShox makes him out to be.
Of course an Atlanta article is going to praise him, he has a say in their future. I'd hardly call it a solid break down, they mention 5 of his picks as "nice value" as if he had a lot of them (Asamoah wasn't a good pick BTW, but replace him with Rodney Hudson, who is looking to be a decent center, and I'd agree with that statement). The problem is.. those were his only good picks. Look at his drafts, they were awful.
For being a guy who did well at getting free agents in NE, he certainly didn't do it in KC. There's a reason Peyton Manning didn't answer a single phone call from Pioli when KC was trying to pick him up after his surgery. If he was a decent GM, the team wouldn't have completely fallen apart while he was here.
I've always liked the Falcons, they seem to be a classy organization and I hope they do well. I just hope that Pioli has as little a say as possible in regards to what goes on there, cause that gives them a much better chance of success.

That was not the only link I picked, and I thought they did a good job at highlighting his good picks, and his bad picks. I'd say he hit on 2/4 of the first round picks. Jackson was obviously not a good pick, and that was apparent from the start according to most of the experts. Baldwin was also a bust, but at least Baldwin looked good in college, and was picked late in the first round. Berry and Poe were the two good picks, of course.
I don't know a lot about many of the players he picked, but I'm going by what other people think of him. His second round picks were terrible, except for Jeff Allen who is a starter quality player.
His third round picks were great. Justin Houston is one of the best players in the league, and Allen Bailey is pretty good. Though you're not a fan, Asamoah's weighted approximate value is a 13, while Hudson's is a 9, and Jeff Allen's is an 11. Statistically, Asamoah is a better player than the guy you like, and so is another one of Pioli's picks. Donald Stephenson seems like an okay pick. He may not be the best player, but he can get by as a starter. I think Moeaki would have been good, but the injury in 2011 kind of sidetracked his career. He wasn't as good in 2012 (maybe resulting from the injury?), and then he was gone in 2013.
In any case, it's a pretty good pick when a GM drafts a regular starter in the third round, and unless you're lucky as hell, you're not getting much after the third round. The Seahawks are about the only team I can think of that have struck gold in the fourth and later consistently over the past few years. Kendrick Lewis is an okay player, though, and he was a fifth round pick.
He wasn't drafting super stars, and he missed really badly in two of three second rounds that he drafted in, which is probably why he got fired, but he drafted some pretty good players. Out of the 14 players he drafted in the first three rounds, he hit on seven or eight of the players, and he struck gold three times with Berry, Houston, and Poe. Honestly, if you look at the majority of teams, that's on par. He had some good free agent signings, and retained some key players too, which can't be overlooked.
Maybe we'll have to agree to disagree, but I don't think Pioli "single-handedly ruined KC." The drafts since Pioli look like shit too. There isn't one player that I recognize from the last two drafts except Knile Davis, and I think that's only because he has a unique name. Their big signing since Pioli left was Alex Smith, and I think you'd have to be insane to love that move.
Fox's biggest problem as a head coach is he is a total wuss on gamedays. He regularly graded as one of the most conservative coaches on fourth down. They keep dinking and dunking on offense and calling these low upside runs. They play ball control offense too often. I understand Manning was injured late in the year, but this has been going on since the beginning. When your team is built around Peyton Manning, that's a terrible idea. It was the same problem in Indy with Dungy and Caldwell. They were too conservative on offense with an all-time great at quarterback. Fox and Dungy are good at a lot of things as coaches. Gameday management is not one of them.
When you have a top offense, you have to be more aggressive. Belichick and Payton regularly go for it. Pete Carroll used to go for it all the time at USC. He only toned it down with the Seahawks because his defense is so much better than his offense. The Harbaugh brothers didn't exactly have top offenses but they regularly sling it downfield and go for it on fourth downs as well.
Just got around to watching it and the Q&A wasn't exactly inspiring. Guy still calls it the "vertical pass" and didn't even have an answer when asked what his philosophy for offense/defense were. Doesn't come off as an Xs and Os guy. You have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. You don't need a teacher. You need a coach. And stop saying "Process...." You aren't the Raiders, though you are looking more and more like them everyday.
Felt more like a funeral than a new coach introduction.

I am a Giants fan but my girlfriend is a die hard 49ers fan so I am somewhat invested in this. After watching that video, I am confident that the 49ers will not win a single game next season. Good god that guy is not ready to be a leader at all. He is so disjointed and confused.
Wow, I'd think that guy was answering questions about his new high school coaching position. Granted I've only listened to a few minutes, but still...
Haha, I just went scrubbing around the video to random spots. Each time he was just rambling about some weird crap... It's like this guy is living as a Frank Caliendo impersonation of himself.
Jeez that guy is a terrible public speaker :o He cant even get his points across without sounding confused or just plain weird about it. He is not going to be a good coach, sorry to say Niners fans.
