I don't think the rules changed and i think the NFL is going to get some limited heat due to Tebow being allowed to do it for days. The best thing they could do now is say that was a mistake and he shouldn't have been penalized.

Mark Davis is like an Al Davis with accelerated growth and development. He has already reached Al's final, putrid form.

I laughed much too loudly for 12:30 AM at this. Fantastic.

And ughhh this Abdullah penalty is gonna turn out bad. It's a really silly penalty, but the refs have to call what the league tells them to, and it's gonna turn into a huge storm for the NFL for being anti-Muslim and what not. Just fix the dumb rule, let players go down on their knees when celebrating, and it's no problem...... Edit: For those that didn't see it: + Show Spoiler + ![]() Apparently the penalty was for sliding on his knees. Either way I don't even get why that's illegal, but be prepared for the media to blow this up as an anti-religion thing. As if the NFL didn't have enough problems right now..

Anywho, this little puppy is a menace. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11614521/joseph-fauria-detroit-lions-says-injured-ankle-chasing-puppy Haha I love the top comment: "Brings new meaning to the term PUP list."

Some people may be pissed, but it's clear that he was penalized for the 5 yard slide before the prayer and not the prayer itself. It's a stupid rule that can be talked about, not some religious crusade. Another crisis for the NFL this is not. Most quote "unbelievable" off-field injuries make perfect sense if you append "while drunk/high" or something similar after. "Joseph Fauria injures ankle chasing puppy while drunk", "Sammy Sosa injures back sneezing while high", "Rajon Rondo sidelined after breaking hand...while drunk". If you were talking about me in college, "Clutz sprains ankle while wrestling roomate in college, while drunk", "Clutz's housemate breaks jaw while playing football blackout drunk", and "Clutz's neighbor tears MCL jumping off porch, high."

Hopefully Cincy spanks them as well so it can happen live. Agreed so much. It's so fun to read Simmons articles after any Boston team loses a game like this or loses a playoff series.

I thought the "going to the ground" penalty was to stop Jared Allen's elongated sack celebration http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000403323/article/nfl-husain-abdullah-should-not-have-been-penalized Anyways there is an exception for religious reasons and the refs made up nfl confirmed it.
