double points for last race
lol conveniently moved interlagos away from there to make room for abu dhabi
lol
@EliGP: When asked if double points also meant double prize money, Jean Todt said: "LOL."
lol
Had that system been in place in recent years, it would have changed the outcome of both the 2012 and '08 title fights. But under the new system, Alonso's second place at Interlagos last year would have given him enough points to leapfrog Vettel, while Massa's 2008 Brazilian GP victory would have denied Hamilton the championship on that occasion. Kimi Raikkonen would also have been World Champion in 2003.
lol rofl
Drivers will be asked to choose their race number, between 2 and 99, for the duration of their career in the FIA Formula One World Championship. Number 1 will be reserved for the current World Champion, should he choose to use it. vettel will probably chose the (multi)21 kimi is like "i don caer pick number for meh"
lol
The principle of a five-second penalty for minor infringements was agreed. In what form such a penalty will be applied will be discussed with Formula One’s teams in order that a new regulation be introduced for 2014 season.
lol
Cost cap The principle of a global cost cap has been adopted. The limit will be applied from January 2015. A working group will be established within the coming days comprising the FIA, representatives of the Commercial Rights Holder and Team representatives. The objective of the working group will be to have regulations approved by the end of June 2014.
LOL WHO IS GONNA BELIEVE THAT?
And all that shit in the season in which they scrap the V8 engines and introduce penisnoses Unbelievable how these changes can ruin a whole sport. Altogether the 2014 changes are like the worst ideas "ever - of all time - in the history - of the world", as Clarkson would say
Goodbye, F1. WEC is coming to take your place.

At least they didn't introduce the 2 manadatory pitstops rule. Small victories?

biggest bullshit ever. consistency and best driver/team through a season? what a joke. why not turning the whole season into qualification and after all races, the 8 driver with the most points have an extra race to determine the champion. and the points from the regular season are just for starting order. like playoff in nba, nhl and so on. and have i said what bullshit this is?
from the point of a sportslover, this is ruining it. sure its financial decision to make more money with thrilling final. but this way is just wrong. i cant believe what they are coming up with.

@EliGP 3h You know an idea is bad when not even NASCAR hasn't tried it yet.

This is what happens when you try and make something for people who have no interest in F1. Fucking disgrace.

I guess Todt and Bernie are going senile.

lol at new rules. I guess instead solving some problems like tires, the danger of boring races or chanpionsips decided on the middle of the season they will try dumb rules. xD
|
I could even agree on double score at races like Monza, Spa, Monaco, Silverstone, Zeltweg and Suzuka... but this is such bullshit, I can't even describe how bad are these changes. Seems like 2013 was the last F1 World Championship for me.

Posted these prediction at the start of the year, did I get it right?
On March 15 2013 02:05 Aristodemus wrote:Well I did a prediction post last year and wasn't too far off so I thought I would try again. Red Bull+ Show Spoiler +They have been the team that loves to sandbag in recent years so I wouldn't be too worried if I was a RB fan from testing. The car is an evolution again so they will be strong, Seb was making a few complaints about tyres but I am sure in the hotter racing conditions they will be fine. Qualifying last year in the first half was their achilles heel, will they be up to speed in Aus? I think so. Prediction: Constructors champ again. In the driver battle there will only be one outcome, Webber just cant compete with Seb, and seems to always have issues in races. Vettel to win comfortably. McLaren+ Show Spoiler +They have taken a few risks with their design and the complex nature of their front suspension has given difficulties with set-up. For that reason they haven't done the sort of miles in testing that they should have. Speed is also hard to judge as McLaren like to sandbag (although slightly less than RB). Lewis leaving is a huge blow though, because if you look at the sort of speed Jenson showed last year was nowhere neat enough to compete for the title. I think it will be a disappointing year. Prediction: 4th. As for Jenson v Sergio, I think Button will beat him. I suspect he will have better speed and mainly better consistency. I think Perez will have a few races where he drives well. Ferrari+ Show Spoiler +Ferrari look good. They have had none of the problems that plagued their winter last year and can go into the season with optimism. Massa needs to really perform this year or I suspect that will be the end of him as it seems anyone in the midfield needs money now. I think Alonso will have a car more capable of competing for the title this year. Prediction:3rd This is the most certain I am in the team-mate battles. Alonso by miles.....again. Mercedes+ Show Spoiler +Well they have looked pretty good this winter haven't they. I am fairly sure they have produced a better car this year but last season the development race was lost heavily to virtually every team on the grid. The success of this year will revolve around that aspect for Mercedes. Hamilton joining will also have given a real boost so I think they will have their best year yet. Is Hamilton/Rosberg the strongest driver line-up? I think so. Prediction:2nd I think Hamilton will win this battle but I expect it wont be completely one-sided as I feel Alonso and Vettel will enjoy. Lotus+ Show Spoiler +They looked really strong after the first couple tests and also had (imo) the best package for the beginning of last year. I have found them hard to read to be honest, but I suspect they will be around the area they ended last year. Mixing it in the top ten but not really able to compete for wins. I feel Grosjean did a poor job but he is backed by money and therefore the team. He will need to improve however. Prediction 5th. I think the experience of Kimi will prove the decisive factor again, he will be similar pace but score at far more GP. Midfield+ Show Spoiler + I think Williams will win the midfield battle this year, although Force India seem to have the best driver pairing. Hulkenberg is the best of the bunch though I feel. Williams - Bottas > Maldonado. I think the young Finn will have a difficult start but improve throughout the year and ultimately end up on top due to Maldonado and his antics costing points. Sauber - Hulkenberg > Gutierrez. Tough task for Esteben here, Nico is a very good driver and one that isn't rated that highly. He will have a hard time looking good this year, but his backing should give him security at least. Force India - Sutil > Di Resta. Sutil seemed to have the beating of Di Resta last time out and I think it will turn out the same. They won't score many points this year and Sutil has the ability to score good points in wet races. I think that will be the key. Di Resta might lose his F1 drive if that happens because it would be three years his team-mate has beaten him, and not guys with particularly high stock. Toro Rosso - Vergne > Ricciardo. Hard to call this one. Vergne was great at lower formula, but he disappointed last time out. It will be a bit of a lottery though, because I don't see many races where these guys have any hope of points. It will be who performs on those limited opportunities.
F1 auction+ Show Spoiler + Caterham - Pic > van der Garde. I went with experience here, and Pic did a pretty good job against Glock last year. Marussia - Bianchi > Chilton. I find it very disappointing that Chilton has a drive in F1, I could pick ten guys out of GP2 who deserve it far more. Bianchi is very experienced for a rookie though, so I expect he will crush him.
As for champion, I can't see past Alonso, Vettel and Hamilton. Heart says Lewis, head says Alonso. Yes! That is me sitting on the fence.
Red Bull I called it, but it didn't take a genius to say Vettel would easily beat Webber. Prediction 1st. Actual 1st. At McLaren, Jenson did indeed beat Sergio but not by as much as I thought. Prediction 4th. Actual 5th. Ferrari, like RB, are easy to predict in driver terms so I was right. Prediction 3rd. Actual 3rd. Mercedes I think I called almost perfectly They did lose the dev race too. Prediction 2nd. Actual 2nd. Lotus were much better than I thought but I got the driver battle right I think. Prediction 5th. Actual 4th. At Williams Bottas did indeed prove superior to Crashtor but I didn't see the dog they produced coming. Wrong call. In Sauber it was easy to predict Nico would shine, but he looked even better than I thought. Good call. Force India I got completely wrong, they had the best midfield car and DiResta slapped Sutil around. Very wrong call. Torro Rosso I also got wrong, but at the time of Ricciardo being promoted Jev was winning and it hurt him. Wrong call. At Caterham, Pic did beat VDG but not by much, and at Marussia Bianchi did crush Chilton as expected by everyone.
As for drivers champ, my heart and head were completely wrong. I sat on the wrong fence.
I thought I was pretty good at predicting the top teams but shocking at the midfield. Next time I will nail it!!!!!!

Perez Confirmed at Force India.
|
I'm glad he has found a seat, that is a very strong driver line-up for a midfield team too.

Force India has a nice lineup for next year
