Anyway. "Webber to Channel 10 Red Bull ”The decision's made. We all know who it is. I'm happy with that decision. It's good for him and Australia”"

Would be a much more exciting championship if vettel wasn't around just Alonso vs Hamilton vs Kimi

Booing was because of some greenpeace douches that abseiled (as a german this word is pretty funny :X) down from the podium. Overall, pretty boring race. Cant fault Vettel for dominating the race, but it would definitely be more exciting if Fernando had a better car.

Red Bull seem to have it sewn up this year. I think a lot of the teams are putting more effort in to next year’s cars. There are some big changes coming next year and it probably doesn’t make a lot of sense to plough millions into improving a car that won’t be used past the end of this season. Vettel and Hamilton seem to get on really well. I wonder how much of that is for the cameras. I’d like to believe it’s genuine and they get on pretty good.

No, This year, Vettel was 8 times on the podium. He won in Germany and got cheers. The other 7 times he was booed out when he got the microphone on the podium interview. Can't wait for Monza, when 100,000 Tifosi are going to boo him out.

That may very well be the case, still, this was happening while they were being interviewed. (even before Vettel even took the mic, they booed) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BShLdvBIAAAFci1.jpg Nevertheless, i dont get the hate.

Wouldnt call myself a fan. I think Alonso is the best driver in the field, so its a shame his car just isnt good enough, but i dont get the hate for Vettel. Yeah sure, the webber-thing yadadada... He has a good car which enables him to win - how is that his fault? He certainly isnt a bad driver as some people here like to proclaim. Most sympathetic? No. I'll admit i dont follow the sport religiously, so if you want to enlighten me why he deserves all the booing, go ahead. I'd appreciate it. //1k, yay..only took like 3 years. :<

but they may not realize how GOOD he is of a driver and that he does indeed deserve it: in his first race (I think he was like 19 or something years old) for BMW Sauber he managed to score points. And he won in a freakin TORO ROSSO

A lot of my English friends seem to hate Vettel. But I can't see any reason for it. He seems like a nice guy. It almost seems to me it’s just jealousy. The overtaking Webber in Malaysia business is so minor you can’t really use that as an excuse for hating or booing him. The booing just seems so unsporting and bad mannered. Eddy Jordon can be particularly bad at making unnecessary comments.

If a competitor becomes dominant for too long, it is inevitable there will be "haters". However, the "hate" will not be very vocal until something justifies disliking the competitor, other than "he is too good". In the case of Schumacher, it was the team's blatant team orders and politics. Plus gimping likeable drivers like Irvine and Barrichello. In the case of Flash, it was the promo interview he did before the PDPop MSL. Some people even used the "enlightened" interview (which was silly, IMO). In Maysia, Vettel gave the perfect reason to hate him, in a silver platter. His comments the following weeks didn't help either.

I hear that in practice he can take out an entire team with 68% accuracy. Truly mastering the arts. If Red Bull ever comes under true pressure they can just recruit him into Toro Rosso and use him as a "suicide driver". That aside I feel the Perez penalty was very harsh. Not a big fan of him always trying to squeeze out other cars whether or not it is safe, but in this race I don't feel it came near deserving a drive-through. Overall a bit of a boring race I feel, though qualifying was very exciting. I'm happy that Button and McLaren found a little pace, but also depressed that I'm happy about a 6th for McLaren. Really hoping they can bounce back next year with the big chances coming, would be amazing to see Button at least in contention for a WDC again.

Perez didn't give him enough space this race, which is a breach of the rules. He forced Perez to go outside the white line with two wheels. Last race people were moaning about Grosjean pulling over on Button, and hitting him. If Button had done what Grosjean did, there would have been no contact. So if Perez didn't deserve a penalty this week, Grosjean didn't last race, because Button should have backed off. This week Perez pulls across on Grosjean, gets a penalty, Grosjean runs off the race track (the area between the two white lines) because he has to, and somehow it's unfair on Perez? If Grosjean had stayed between the lines, there would have been an accident like there was last race. Maybe next time Grosjean should make sure he doesn't run off the track, then there would have been one more accident last race, and an accident this race which he would have caused by not running off the track. And then people would complain. If there is a rule, it should be applied consistently, which means Perez got a penalty just like he deserved. That's not to say other people didn't also deserve penalties for the same thing, but I don't see how Perez didn't deserve a penalty given that he broke the rules. Amazing how everyone hates on Grosjean one week, and then another week someone does something similar and it's harsh to be penalised for it.

I see him as a nice guy who is also a brilliant F1 driver, but not the best.

At this point in his very short career he has moved beyond being 'just fast.' Early on he showed us he could win from pole. Easily. He could qualify in 1/2. Easily. Over the past few years he's shown us that he can win from behind and pass too. To say that Hamilton is clearly better than him is dishonest. Hamilton never had raw pace like Vettel does and his racecraft is at best equal to Vettel's (and nowhere near Alonso's). Alonso's 2010 campaign is the best evidence that he's a better driver than Vettel in ways that don't show up on timesheets. I don't really like Vettel and it's pretty easy to see why people hate him. If you ignore Malaysia this year, remind yourself of Turkey. By all appearances he's a raging baby whenever he doesn't get his way. If this is the stuff we see, imagine what we don't. Spa 2013 was a good race by modern f1 standards, but boring for Spa. Completely dry race lacked the excitement of mixed condition qualifying. I'm not particularly excited for Monza...it's usually really boring. It's basically Nascar.
