east i got pens and bruins. if pens play vokoun i dont see senators being able to beat them. but it should be a long series. west i would say hawks and kings but kinda unsure about how good sharks are.

They can sign PK Subban in 2 years and then use their corporate connections to make him "the official spokesman" for a bunch of giant companies and he can make the kind of money Sidney Crosby can only dream of. PK Subban can rationalize his lower than expected contract signing beceause he "loves toronto" and gave them a "home town discount". I wouldn't say Ovechkin was "invisible" during the 2013 playoffs. But, I thought his line would score more goals.

Rangers played very good physical hockey and well ... nothing worked, even the PP didn't go how it was planned. On a side note: Ovi is 1+1, Nash is 0+2. Pretty fucking weird series!

Pens over the Sens in 5. I think that the Pens will get their shit together and crush the Sens while riding Vokoun instead of MAF. Mad props to the Sens for getting this far with all of their injuries. Boston over the Rags in 7. This will be a really close series. It will also be a physically brutal series. Boston has the better team, but Lundquist is awesome and will steal a couple games. Hawks over the Wings in 6. That Ducks series was tough for the Wings, and now they are facing a clearly superior opponent in the Hawks. I wanted to say Hawks in 5, but the Wings are playing tough. Sharks over the Kings in 7. The Sharks are a little bit fresher and seem to be highly motivated this year. I also think that their new-found depth at forward is going to cause the Kings some problems that the Blues did not. This is going to be a tough series. It is going to Game 7 one way or another.

Ottawa Rangers Detroit Kings or Sharks doesn't really matter to me. I have a feeling I'll be disappointed after the next round. :/

No team is guaranteed a playoff sport and they can always be sure there are 30 other teams that are working just as hard as them and only 16 in total will get through. Saying any given team "should" make the playoffs makes no sense to me since there are 16 spots and 31 teams. Based off logic each team will have around a 50% chance given they are all around the same skill level. Thats like flipping a coin and saying it should land on heads because it has a better chance of landing on heads then a dice has of rolling a 4. No matter how good every team is there will be 15 teams not in the playoffs every year and this doesn't mean they suck, it just means there wasn't enough spots and they were not as good as they needed to be. In the context of the Leafs saying they should be happy just to make the playoffs is a perfectly acceptable statement. This would mean they did better then almost half the league when they were pegged at being near the bottom this season. If Pittsburg or Chicago got out in the first round they could not say the same thing because there is far more expectation and talent over there but in Toronto getting to the playoffs and going to game 7 overtime in round 1 is a good accomplishment. You know, just for my sanity, please tell me what is the 31st professional hockey team in the NHL?

If Colborne learns how to skate then goddamn it'll be a good team actually. Get a puck-moving D-man and it's go time. We have plenty of those. It seems like a lot of them forgot how to clear the zone though lol.
