I was supposed to do ten triples today, but gravity was being a bitch. Still happy with the session, PR for total reps at that weight. Next week I'll do some light snatch and CJ during the week, then see what I can squat!

however my blood pressure was FUCKING AWFUL today, loud constant thumping in my head after pretty much any exertion. i even texted a friend to tell him incase i died coz i was fuckin scared, then bailed instead of running
i need to re-try 0 cigarettes (had 10 scattered over last week due to stressful week) i also need to absolutely 0 energy (caffeine) drinks, coz that obviously fucks me over given how bad i was today.
i have doctors next week sometime so i could mention it to him, but what's he gonna say? don't smoke, don't drink energy drinks, don't overdo it, maybe have some "statin" blood thinner pills which aren't gonna stop me having a stroke if i'm due one. (what does high blood pressure mean? it means your arteries are fucked and sooner or later you're going to have a stroke and die. correct me if i'm wrong? i think the only thing i can do is order some fish oil and just accept the fact i'm probably going to have a stroke and die, whether i improve my heart health or not................)
Try some vitamin K. Found in seaweed an a likely factor in east asian/japanese heart health. Ive had a number of serious exercise headaches that felt like explosions in my head and throbbed for days afterward. Nothing to worry about if your blood pressure is normally fine. Cardio helps.

This is your body telling you to quit the damn cigarettes already wtf.
Been binge drinking a lot and not sleeping much due to staying up late to watch hockey. Last night I ordered a shit load of McDonald's (free delivery in Korea...). Slept late and woke up a bit hungover, but PR'd my high bar squat at 95 kg (2x5, 1x2). Almost up to what I was at for low bar now...

Bench 215 3,4,3 - Surprised I did this well, my shoulders felt like they had been seriously taxed after my last attempt Wed. Squat 195 3x5 - Starting to get respectable. Deadlift 215 x5
@phyre I'm sure I've asked before but how are you determining your imbalances. I'm sure I'm favoring a side in my squat but it's hard to tell while you're doing it. video is probably the obvious answer... I've been adding one leg presses and stuff so we'll see.

I'm doing iso-lateral stuff pretty regularly (obliques, hamstrings and quads) and once you've done a few sets you can really tell which part of which side is ahead. As far as the harder to tell areas like the glutes and the lower back, I'm mostly basing it off of the way I stand, What is comfortable in a squat, the fact that my squat shifts left and my DL rotates left, yet my right lower back always feels like it's been hit by a truck while my left side feels fine after I'm done. When I started worrying about it, there was actually a visible difference in the size of my erectors, which has somewhat gone away but is still present.
Obviously the squat requires video, a mirror, or a lifting buddy. The deadlift you can kinda tell if you pay attention to what's happening with the bar while you lift it, but there are other things to be focused on when you're going for a heavy pull so I use lighter DLs and RDLs to help me judge.

First time snatching heavy from the floor in a little over a week. The pull felt so easy, got up to 97kg then went for a PR at 102kg, missed it once, then on my second try I fucking had the lockout for a split second but I felt a lot of pain in my left wrist, I thought I dislocated or broke something.
Hit 260 on Bench today (20 lb PR) and 380 on Squat (20 lb PR). Almost go 3x10 Dips with 45 plate. Missed one rep on my last set Probably gonna add a 10 and work up from 3x8 to 3x10 and then go through the cycle again. Good lifting made a crappy day good though!
Going for Clean PR tomorrow. Hopefully somewhere around 260ish. School record is 275 so hopefully will break that pretty soon

I have no idea how you can oly lift without wrist wraps. Sick lifts.
Honestly without wraps it's pain city for me. You can build your muscle however much you want but if you have girly wrists like me you got to keep them in good condition.
That combination of lifts really makes me feel like I got a full body workout. Amazing.
EDIT: oh, long cuts on my shins are keeping me back. Happens when I full clean... I guess I just gotta band aid it up and keep on going. Don't like getting blood on the bar though, feels unhygienic.

I can oly lift without taping my wrists about 90% of the time. Occasionally i'll get some pain (usually rugby related) and i'll tape up and be fine.
I used to lift in long socks all the time. Now i'm pretty good about not ripping the skin off my shins while I lift. Or the skin on my shins has turned into rhino skin.

You and I are built veeery differently. I'm 5''9 and 155lbs. My ribcage is small enough so on some bench racks I can't even touch the bar to my chest, instead I hit the catch. On the olys my wrists are my #1 priority because when I hurt them last month I couldn't do shit for a week
As for ripping the shins, I used to just pull my socks up. But recently I've been using these shoes:

Which are really great for grip/foot strength but unfortunately they leave no room for socks.
You can always deadlift barefoot, in just socks. If anything it should improve your pull.
as far as wrists... bones and tendons/ligaments increase in density relative to the stress you place on them. Will you ever have the joints of a 7 foot tall world class strongman? No, probably not. But they WILL get stronger over time, same as your muscles do.

Yeah my wrists were not nearly this strong or mobile before I started lifting.
