Friday - Squat doubles at 405 425 445 455 465 475 1x485 1x495 (went for doubles on both but missed) Then a few sets of bench at 185 and chin ups Not bad(5 pounds under PR wtf?) for being royally hungover, god damn holiday party free drinks for two hours at the bar last night. My body definitely runs on alcohol.
What do you guys think about knee sleeves? I've been taking it easy on my knees because of some pain I mentioned in the other thread. Well, I just got back from an extremely light squat session and my knees feel OK. Do you think it'd be a good idea to invest in some knee sleeves or are they not worth the money?

I wear mine whenever i'm squatting/olmpic weightlifting. keeps the knee warm and feels good. Make sure you get good ones like rehands
Also did about 15 minutes of jump rope earlier today. I've been really bad about lifting to be honest, as I've just had one week of hell after another. I just finished up my trimester exams on Friday, and I've been really just regaining my sanity the last 2 days. I did get some cool stuff though, as early Christmas presents. I got some VooDoo Floss, 2 resistance bands, and a mini-deadlift jack because my basement is super cramped and it's impossible to load the bar on either side of it =/
I'm going to really make an effort in 2014. I started pretty late in 2013 and got side tracked a little bit too much with school and a shitty schedule, but I'm definitely going to push for a 185 bench by the end of 2014 and for at least 315 on the deadlift by the end of the summer. Right now I'm just regaining the strength I lost from when I took a break.

I know how you feel. I hurt my palm a couple days ago snatching. I read that many athletes use wrist straps to counter the large wrist angle on the catch. Hopefully after a few days of christmas at the gf's parents everything will reset. I couldn't even squat today the pain from pushing was so bad.

Did 180 Squat, my squat is as strong as ever. Once I'm done cutting I'll squat 220-230 for sure.
My snatch overall is feeling a bit off, still getting used to a higher start position and my feet are moving weird lol. Last heavy day of the year, missed 210lb snatch a bunch of times, the pulls felt easy but just couldn't stick it today. PR 255lb CJ, and cleaned 265lb and the jerk was close. 120 fucking kilos, did 3 cleans but missed all jerks. Jerks felt solid, taking a light week really helped my left wrist/elbow recover. Finished the session with max squat, got up to 330lbs, haven't squatted that much in more than a year lol.
