bench 80kg 6-5-5-5 power clean 60kg 5x3~+ squat 60kg 3x5 clean form much better but still challenging. at least i know what im doing now. legs are very weak in that position. i think i might squat completely wrong, will have to reassess on friday. went light squats at end today coz i wanted to clean properly for once. oh this guy came in to do squats infront of me, kinda. he had a big hoodie on , with the hood up over his head. skinny young chav kid. he unracked like 110 and was standing on his toes, leaning forward and dipping forward on his toes down 5 inches, then back up. after each dip he would shuffle his body, along with the barbell, 1 metre to the right, dip, 1 metre to the left, dip, repeat. like a toes dippy shuffle dance squat. i dont know if its legit. after a while he musta gotten hot, coz he took off his big hoody (fleece/coat with a hood), then took off his shirt so was barechested, then put the hoodie back on and put the hood over his head again. after his toe shuffle squat dips he took up a position approx right behind my power cleans, held onto a weight rack and flung his legs backwards one after the other like alternate backwards kicks. he kept doing that until he realised i was gonna keep coming back to my barbell and he wouldnt be able to kick backwards with me standing there *blinks* the shuffle squats really blew my mind tho heres my spreadsheet btw https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjIvzoW04fGQdFM0YXVXRXNGVmZpMmZpa0JYM2stYWc

http://www.sports-tracker.com/#/workout/neilmurphy/8d6op8ehuo7evjtr We're doing the Navy Seals 12 week preparation program. Right now we're on week 3. After our 5k run we did the following: 100 pushups (through 5 sets) 125 crunches (through 5 sets) 12 fully extended chin ups (through 3 sets) This Saturday we're doing the Tough Training Trials (T3) half marathon ruck/obstacle run in Orlando. It's free and there is free food afterwards. If you want to get in it's not too late. PM me if you want me to get you in. EDIT: I posted about our previous mud runs in the past. Here is the Warrior Dash from January. Since then we have run the Savage race and a normal 5k event. Next run is the Superhero Scramble..... in July. In FLORIDA. FML.

Tomorrow a follow up with my doctor, get some blood work, see if this Crohn's flare is backing off yet or if I need higher doses of fucking prednisone. Either way, the huge cutback on caffeine, better diet, and light body weight workouts I've been doing during the day to get in shape for TKD have me up ~2 pounds in 3 weeks, despite my Crohn's kicking up. Yay me! Way to go! Especially re: caffeine. I'm not sure I'd have the strength to do anything about my addiction...I'm an utter slave to my daily coffee. You've probably already explained this at some point, but what kind of TKD do you do? I did Olympic for a few years back in college, only competed once. Hard to say which arena Koreans are more dominant in: TKD or Starcraft? Today's workout: Squats 3x5 @ 305 Bench Press 3x5 @ 205 (Finally a decent random spotter who didn't touch the bar at my sticking point!) Deadlift 1x5 @ 375 During pickup basketball, banged knees with another guy. Hit me on the lateral side of my right patella. This was probably one of the weirdest experiences with pain I've ever had: it didn't hurt at all at first, then gradually increased in intensity over a period of about four seconds from a 1 to a 10, at which point the pain radiated downwards into my shin (staying at a 10), then finally disappearing altogether. Mobility is fine, supporting weight is fine, running is fine....all of which is really surprising considering how much it fucking hurt at the time.

I just know it's the kind where I find out that my balance and flexibility need work, and I kick targets a lot. Oh, and tying the belt is harder to learn than half the techniques. tying the belt becomes second nature after a while lol tkd's fun. you gotta be hella flexible to kick at good height though.

Luckily I'm 6'2", which marginally mitigates the lack of flexibility for the time being. But yeah, some of the top black belts are about as flexible as those little bendy toys. Kinda scary. The belt is confusing. It doesn't even hold my pants up ![]()

Is the club associated with ITF or WTF? Hopefully you're kicking more than doing silly poomsae. If not, just whale on a bag after class.

Or are light-hearted comments about martial arts against the unwritten rules? I really need to read those some time.

I literally gagged as I drank it but luckily it is somehow delicious in milk ![]() My good news is that I have been good about going to the gym 4-5 times a week for the last couple months and have seen notable improvement. The bad news is I have developed the bad habit of going at crazy hours. It gets late and then I feel too guilty to not go to sleep and talk myself into going. I really need to work it into my day time routine before it costs me too much sleep.

The gym I go to has been handing out free samples of proteins and intraworkout stuff on tuesday and I tried this last week after a class before starting a workout. Do you think it helps? I was considering getting some. Edit: I ask if you think it helps because the guy who works at a sports nutrition store told me they're not sure why it works etc but that it does and that's not enough to get me to buy it lol.
