It really favors oly lifting and since i do more weight (even though not per bodyweight) i'd probably be crushing it lol. Yep like others have said, it's in the general settings page (just click Settings) and scroll all the way to the bottom On a sidenote, the other day I thought of a really easy and relative precise way to do kg->lb conversion in your head (mostly because of this thread haha): Double the number and add a tenth of the result ie 130kg = 260, add 26=286lb, actual is 286.6 lb to kg is similar: divide by 2 and subtract a tenth of the result. ie 246lb = 123, subtract 12 = 111kg. actual is 111.6 Not sure if this trick is well known or anything, I thought it was great when I figured it out though

0. add a shortcut key for google in FF (for me it's g); this is free in chrome 1. google X lb in kg or Y kg in lb (g 100 kg in lb) 2. get result Ah, in your head, yea x2.2 = x2 + 10%

Tomorrow is my last workout on my 6 gym week subscription, can't renew as i finish uni in like 2 weeks... ![]() Supposing all goes well, these will be my before and afters, using SS. Weight 81kg --> 84kg Squat 45 --> 85 Deadlift 50 --> 100 BB Row --> 20 --> 45 Press 15 --> 35 Bench 35 --> 60 Is that pretty standard novice improvement over a 6 week period?

does protein shake "denature" if you leave it and dont drink it for an hour or a few hours? some of them say "consume within 20 minutes" , i have a feeling this is just because the powder will sediment after a while and people will complain someone who actually knows the answer please! conflicting things when i googled for it a while ago

It isn't likely to denature after being left out, since that usually happens when protein is heated.. but even that isn't going to be an issue, you cook meat and that protein is still beneficial. It is a milk product, though, so I wouldn't make a habit of leaving it out or heating it. ![]()

almost fell over on the 1st rep. i gave up on the set after this coz i was so lame and exhausted already. depth isnt as deep as what i managed the other day. i felt like i had almost "cracked" it a few days ago but today just blew ass. note im standing on a wedge, on bare feet, so its allowing me to do much better form than i can do without my heels being raised (cant squat for shit without the wedge, i go down about half a foot then just get stuck). still note im tilting forwards so much even with the wedge!! 4mb mediafire http://www.mediafire.com/?f5w5f8swam8ffvf also note how low down my back im holding the bar. its basically resting on the inflexibility of my arms, and hurts like a bitch (im squeezing it into my back but if the weight goes higher i probably wont be able to hold it). a guy actually came up today and said i was going to injury myself because i was holding it too low (but then told me i should basically rest it ontop of my backbone/shoulder bone/whatever the top bit is. i told him a ton of people (in the gym) have told me thats way too high) oh, and fuck the music they were playing today, morbid dance crap this is my ~14th session at gym and still so bad at squat

For bar positioning. Just make sure you're driving your elbows backwards as much as possible. This tightens all the muscles and creates a kind of platform for the bar. Keep your wrists as straight as your flexibility will allow. Once your flexibility improves bring your hands a tiny bit closer together each time you squat.

When I had surgery in order to get PE credits I couldn't take team sports. At that point I didn't want to be involved in weights, so I wouldn't have wanted to do that >.> So I couldn't take team or net sports. This means that I had to take "cardio fitness" which is aka PE for the lazy. We'd walk like 5 miles. On an "intense day" But some days we did circuit training. Mostly consisting of people wandering around in circles. I genuinely wanted to get fit, and so did stupid dumbbell (5lb) curls, and stretched, and did jumping jacks, and step exercises. in general does that circuit stuff do anything?

Last question: For some reason bench press seems to be stressing my triceps more than anything else. Googling it it says I should widen by grip, but I think Im' doing it right according to SS. Also some guy at the gym said (famous last words) that if I"m going to be substituting barbell rows for powerclean a pendlay row would be superior. Is this at all true.

Other Muscles: Chest, Forearms, Lats, Shoulders from http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/detail/view/name/bench-press-powerlifting more direct chest work, like incline bench press, comes in later programs. dont worry about it!

I'll comment on only one thing since I'm not the one to ask for hardcore form check. But I can tell you about resting the bar low on your back because I used to have a similar problem. When you are doing low back squats you have to create a better shelf by pushing your elbows out as far as possible and trying to make your arms as perpendicular to the ground as possible. Yours are not out nearly enough for that to happen. The then bar rests a lot more comfortably on a knot of muscle created by your back and the back part of your deltoids.
