Hi everybody!
After 8 Qualifiers our XMG Gaming-Insight SC2 Cup ends this Saturday (14th of Januar) with our long awaited Final Tournament!
Prizepool:
The Winner will get a XMG Notebook worth over 1200 €
Second Place will win 500 € in cash
Third Place will win 300 € in cash
Fourth Place will win 200 € in cash
Places 5 to 8 will each win 100 € in cash
Casters:
We will be streaming the event live in HD: Stream
Our German casters cip, Anathema und Tyrania will be accompanied by Dennis "HasuObs" Schneider!
Ahnaris will cast the matches in English on his stream!
Depending on his visa, Khaldor will be casting in English as well!

Format:
The Final Tournament contains 32 players. It is a single eliminiation tournament, played over 5 rounds. All matches are best of 3 matches, except for the semi finals, the grand final and the bronze match, which are best of 5 matches.
In the Final Tournament, the 16 winners of the Qualifier Tournaments in the Preliminary Phase are paired with 16 invited pro players.
Schedule:
Saturday, 14th of January:
12:00 pm - Start of Round of 32 Group A
12:45 pm - Start of Round of 32 Group B
01:30 pm - Start of Round of 32 Group C
02:15 pm - Start of Round of 32 Group D
03:00 pm - Start of Round of 16 Group A+B
04:00 pm - Start of Round of 16 Group C+D
Once we've reached the Round of 8, every single match will be cast. The tournament should last until about midnight.

A nice list of A and B list Europeans, should be an interesting watch. I've never heard of your primary English caster, so I hope the casting for those of us that don't speak German is watchable.

Hey Guys.
Grubby qualified at one of our qualifiers in late 2011. That Shoutcraft and we are on the same date is kinda bad luck as obviously both were planned on the long terms and were postponed more than once. We will see if all players are able to participate, but for now they are at least qualified

Well ReaL and Gamtja are linked to their scbw TLPDs, but it does not seem like there is a sc2 profile for Gamtja yet .. which is interesting, as there is a profile for almost anyone. Hm.
And Acro is linked to the map, not the player  (and has a 50% winrate on every matchup [the map, not the player])
Well I will watch, if only to see if Gamtja still has it in him.

Is it me or is it strange to not award a cash prize for first place?
Actually if I were a playing in this final i would try to lose on purpose :S or can you get the 1200 euros instead?

hm, thats intended. even if you dont need the notebook you will be able to sell it for more than the second place.
When determinating the prize structure we focused on spreading the prize pool a little more than having only very few win larger amounts. We think its more "pro friendly" or lets name it "more friendly for players that want to earn money" by playing this kind of tournaments.
