Blazing Sword will suck up much more of your time if you start liking some characters and wanting to get their support conversations. Good thing it's got great replay value.

It's kind of like the Hunger Games, compelling at first because of the setting and all, but that gets stifled by having "ermahgerd dark and moody or blonde and puppylike idk who to choose". The Fault in Our Stars is by no means perfect. You'd be surprised though how having a terminal illness affects some people's behavior though-- my best friend passed away from brain cancer earlier this year, and some of the things in the story echo how she was in the last year or so. It cut pretty deep. Also, I like the Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock, except its quoted out of context but I'll forgive that. dude you clearly haven't read hunger games closely enough ![]()

I just played through Blazing Sword not to long ago again and was not disappoint. I'd recommend Fire Emblem over Pokemon, but both are good choices. I don't think you can go wrong with either. However if you do play Fire Emblem and you use Canas, please tell me how yours turns out. I haven't gotten a good Canas. Ever. My Raven was pretty bad last run too.

Only drawback is how heavy the dark tomes are, so with his low speed stat he'll never be able to attack people twice like most other mages do, however once you level him up some his good growth in power and the high damage of the dark tomes let him one shot people pretty easily. Plus he's got one of the best resistance stats of the game, and his defense is very high for a mage too. His HP are rather high iirc, so all in all he's a fairly tanky dude, the tankiest of all mages ('cept if you somehow get a monster dodger) and he hits like a truck, especially the bosses and any tanky unit (high resistance and powerful enough that you don't want it to reach you, like a general). I also like the character in general. + Show Spoiler + I was so disappointed that there's no way to save him no matter who you make converse with. >.< Most of his convos are full of infos on other characters though, mainly Nino, Pent and Renault.

The books needed a stronger ending or maybe just merge the whole second book with the third one. Either way, ending needed work. At least we aren't clogging up GD with drug talk lol On August 28 2013 11:16 Haiq343 wrote: Goddamn does this thread change directions abruptly. I think one of you writer dudes should have to go back and edit in some foreshadowing of potential topics into your posts. This thread is kind of like show and tell, people just bring up things they want to talk about lol.

Also to contribute to the book discussion, I strongly recommend Terry Prachett's Wee Free Men stuff for readers of all ages. Bonus: If anyone needs a gift for a young child, David Wiesner's stuff is really amazing. http://www.amazon.com/Tuesday-David-Wiesner/dp/0395870828/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1377656372&sr=1-2

Not only is most of what the main character does risky and meaningless, she looses all of her cool character traits.

I liked the story in the first book alright, but it just didn't really hold me after that.

I am assuming that you're talking about Lyn's story. If that is the case, if you let her die, you won't get her back until later in the game. If she dies again though, she's gone forever. I think the canonical explanation is that if she does *die* she's actually just severely wounded. That being said, I really want to force myself to play through a Fire Emblem game in which if one of my characters dies, I won't reset. I'd want to see how bad of a commander I am and see how the game will pan out with no resets on my chapters when things go south.

Only Transformers show I watched, and it was well worth waking up at 6:45 to catch it on Cartoon Network.
