There was this dude that was piped up on pcp at a motel that ripped the AC unit and tossed it out the window. That was when I was convinced never to do drugs unless I could become a millionaire being a professional AC tosser.

Blazing Sword will suck up much more of your time if you start liking some characters and wanting to get their support conversations.
Good thing it's got great replay value.

I had a friend who did acid and just got in a strangers car while he was walking down the street because it looked comfy, no intention of stealing it. The guy was apparently awake and found him and asked him what he was doing. Luckily he was pretty chill, he still called the cops but my friend got trespassing but didn't get any drug related charges. Funny aside, my friend's dad called me at 7AM asking if I knew where his son was because he had apparently lied and told his parents he was hanging out with me.

TFiOS has to be one of my least books ever. Teenagers acting like tryhard intellectuals make me want to go zerg russian and punch some walls.

Action plus romance is a pretty lethal combination, and Sanderson's attempt to write from the perspective of a teenage girl really falls flat. It's kind of like the Hunger Games, compelling at first because of the setting and all, but that gets stifled by having "ermahgerd dark and moody or blonde and puppylike idk who to choose".

The Fault in Our Stars is by no means perfect. You'd be surprised though how having a terminal illness affects some people's behavior though-- my best friend passed away from brain cancer earlier this year, and some of the things in the story echo how she was in the last year or so. It cut pretty deep.

Also, I like the Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock, except its quoted out of context but I'll forgive that.

dude you clearly haven't read hunger games closely enough Katniss had to pretend so she can live, not because she was moody and couldn't choose which guy was hotter. You probably will lose all respect for me, but I liked Hunger Games series way more than TFiOS.

I just played through Blazing Sword not to long ago again and was not disappoint. I'd recommend Fire Emblem over Pokemon, but both are good choices. I don't think you can go wrong with either. However if you do play Fire Emblem and you use Canas, please tell me how yours turns out. I haven't gotten a good Canas. Ever. My Raven was pretty bad last run too.

I've always been satisfied with Canas, but Luna's pretty broken to begin with in this game.
Only drawback is how heavy the dark tomes are, so with his low speed stat he'll never be able to attack people twice like most other mages do, however once you level him up some his good growth in power and the high damage of the dark tomes let him one shot people pretty easily.
Plus he's got one of the best resistance stats of the game, and his defense is very high for a mage too. His HP are rather high iirc, so all in all he's a fairly tanky dude, the tankiest of all mages ('cept if you somehow get a monster dodger) and he hits like a truck, especially the bosses and any tanky unit (high resistance and powerful enough that you don't want it to reach you, like a general).

I also like the character in general.
+ Show Spoiler +
I was so disappointed that there's no way to save him no matter who you make converse with. >.< Most of his convos are full of infos on other characters though, mainly Nino, Pent and Renault.

From his description, it seems like he was referencing the movies more so than the books. The books needed a stronger ending or maybe just merge the whole second book with the third one. Either way, ending needed work.

Don't duck your responsibility as a literary type.

Also to contribute to the book discussion, I strongly recommend Terry Prachett's Wee Free Men stuff for readers of all ages.

Bonus: If anyone needs a gift for a young child, David Wiesner's stuff is really amazing. http://www.amazon.com/Tuesday-David-Wiesner/dp/0395870828/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1377656372&sr=1-2

God. Hunger games had the worst ending of anything I have ever read. Not only is most of what the main character does risky and meaningless, she looses all of her cool character traits.

I read the first two and just lost interest. The writing just felt really basic. I liked the story in the first book alright, but it just didn't really hold me after that.

I am assuming that you're talking about Lyn's story. If that is the case, if you let her die, you won't get her back until later in the game. If she dies again though, she's gone forever. I think the canonical explanation is that if she does *die* she's actually just severely wounded.

That being said, I really want to force myself to play through a Fire Emblem game in which if one of my characters dies, I won't reset. I'd want to see how bad of a commander I am and see how the game will pan out with no resets on my chapters when things go south.

Someone mentioned this in the general thread when someone posted a pic of a custom "Colossus" Elise skin and mentioned how similar to looked to a Beast Wars Transformers.

Only Transformers show I watched, and it was well worth waking up at 6:45 to catch it on Cartoon Network.

no one dies in the game, they have their like stories and shit at the end, so yeah, they just withdraw from battle from being severely wounded and you cant use them again xD

everyone that dies in lyn's story comes back in the real story since lyn's story is just the tutorial

fun fact: when i palyed fe7 for the first time i finished lyn's story and thought it was the whole game and thought the game was rly dumb LOL dropped it for a week before my friend told me i was retarded
