SO CLOSE! + Show Spoiler [kingkiller spoilers] + I like the theory about how Kvothe changed/locked away his name to Kote, and this is why he cannot use his magicks anymore(also explains what could be in that chest he was attempting to open). There's some fun theory stuff over in /r/KingkillerChronicle that gets recycled every few weeks. | ||

Well, I thought XI was very, very good but that's because it's the only MMO I've played with a real nice guild and my friends (even though I never got to end game). I think the true quality of the FF MMOs ARE in the end game, so that's attractive to some, I guess. And frankly, I kind of understand wanting a paid model. It means the people who REALLY want to play the game are the only ones that will and it's less likely for them to be backwards fuckwads (though they'll certainly still be some). It's just funny that this backlash is occurring because of the community that F2P generates. | ||

Action plus romance is a pretty lethal combination, and Sanderson's attempt to write from the perspective of a teenage girl really falls flat. It's kind of like the Hunger Games, compelling at first because of the setting and all, but that gets stifled by having "ermahgerd dark and moody or blonde and puppylike idk who to choose". The Fault in Our Stars is by no means perfect. You'd be surprised though how having a terminal illness affects some people's behavior though-- my best friend passed away from brain cancer earlier this year, and some of the things in the story echo how she was in the last year or so. It cut pretty deep. Also, I like the Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock, except its quoted out of context but I'll forgive that. | ||
