Probably wouldn't love them now, feels more like a children's book.

Doesn't make top 20 books i've read by a long shot tho. It's just not... very good. For escapist literature read wheel of time imo ![]()

Not sure if serious. «Respecting» females is some mis-used word spoken only by internet creeps who don't even understand the basics of social interaction. I do respect women way more than most people here, I'm pretty sure of it, but I would never say about a girl I've never seen or talked to a single time in my life I would take her to dinner. The only non-creepy thing you can infere from her is that's she's hot and she doesn't sound too stupid. And that you'd probably have sex with her given the proper conditions.

I had a freshman on my floor in college who had Emma Watson on his desktop (this was while the movies were still being made). It was never entirely clear how much he was joking when he fawned all over her because when the rest of the floor poked fun at him for it he pretty much embraced the absurdity. I never read the books but I've heard that they cut out a lot of description in the USA versions. The movies were just alright but then I'm a pretty harsh movie critic sometimes.

![]() the worst part of biking groceries back home is when the plastic bags are shitty and split open so you cant hang them no the handles anymore. I've had to walk my bike back while balancing groceries on the frame way too many times.

Children's books are great, though! On August 27 2013 21:53 mordek wrote: The first IH is stressful because you don't feel like you're in the group of cool kids. Then you play a game or two and you realize you're being silly (just like new groups irl). The games are just as stressful as solo q, you want to perform your best, but at the same time as long as you're not trolling or raging no one is going to care about your results as long as you're trying. It also depends on your team, 2 of the 4 games I've played I've had people with negative attitudes that I'll choose not to name here, and that was fairly frustrating.

![]() I just never related to the characters. Harry is a Marty Stu apart from some rather rare scenes, Ron isn't very deep and felt like he was simply "the protagonist's goofy and clumsy best friend, and comic relief" and almost never "Ron". And Hermione, despite having (minor and often inconsequential) flaws exposed was treated in such a way that these were most of the time far offset by how smart and useful and caring, etc. she is. Sure there are other characters, but when the main 3 rub you the wrong way from the first book and either get shallow or are idealised as the books progress, it certainly doesn't help.

As far as best children literature, Watership Down is by far my favorite.

Also, going to say "The Way of Kings"(Brandon Sanderson) as well. Although only one part of that is released, and there's supposed to be quite a lot.

They are great books, and quite easy to read despite how lengthy it might seem. Can't wait for the third book of the series, and hopefully a few more afterwards. I just DON'T UNDERSTAND how he can fit everything he needs to in the "final" book of the "trilogy." My favorite Sanderson stuff is the Mistborn trilogy. That's some awesome fantasy right there.

I just recently read it, and enjoyed it. I think sometimes it felt that it was dragging on a bit, but I might have just read it in bad timing. + Show Spoiler [real spoilers for kingkiller chronicles] + Honestly, I just hope he doesn't kill off Kvothe, but it's seeming more and more likely the more I re-read the books. That fucking silence of three parts.
