Though there's rumors of a new edition coming out in May which could change a lot of things, the overall scheme of Movement/Shooting/Assault has stayed the same since Rogue Trader days. If you want to learn more about the Ork force before buying the Codex, check out this page on 1d4chan, does a nice rundown of the units and overall strategy of the army. Fun read, too, gives a good feel of how everything works together and the basics of buying/listbuilding. A new Codex is due out in the summer too, but that's still rumors. Awesome, I'll check it out. I think my plan might be to ask for the starting stuff (Codex/Rule Book/etc) for my birthday. If new stuff is coming out in May and summer, that may work out for me since my birthday is end of July. I think it suffers from "pretty good but everything else is just better" because by the time you get it, it's sort of made irrelevant by the better attacking jobs from chapter 3 (Pirate, Swordmaster, Ninja), plus its support abilities aren't as good as Ranger or Ninja for characters in other jobs. Though it's probably ok as a secondary set for a Performer if you don't want to abuse Performer+Freelancer.
Guaranteed crits are are a lot less amazing when a lot of other classes just hit the 9999 damage cap without crits or BP-using abilities.

Should I do the 6 Keystones thing before going into the Pillar of Light? That's kinda where I am right now.

Should I do the 6 Keystones thing before going into the Pillar of Light? That's kinda where I am right now. You should finish all available sidequests before going into the PIllar of Light. Going into it is a point of no return that makes certain things unobtainable from there on out. + Show Spoiler +The end of the keystone quest + dungeon gives you the Vampire job, which is basically Blue Mage from Final Fantasy games. Going through the pillar makes certain enemy types inaccessible which means you won't be able to get all the Blue Magics if you want to use the Vampire job
I think you can still do the keystone quest but it would be a lot harder, IIRC.

Mmmk, I'll get that done then. I still need to go back and get all the summoner magic too. I only have Earth and Fire right now lol.

Did they mention what they're planning on running? I've got a handful of resources that I've collected recently: rumor mills, tactica, painting guides, etc. In particular, Orks and IG are supposed to be getting updates, while Adeptus Mechanicus are rumored to be either becoming an Imperial supplement like the Inquisition or become a new army of their own, possibly alongside the Imperial Knights.
