Because English isn't my mother tongue, when I can truly appreciate some stuff like Pigalle I can't share it with you guys. :< Music doesn't have to be in your mother tongue to like it. Tbh I am really liking Stromae atm. I know he's pretty popular in Belgium/France. Racine Carrée is a really solid album, even though I can't understand all the lyrics. My favourite songs in my own tongue:

So...you watched him escape and it took you that long to track him down? I know you're slow gandhi, but come on...

The GPD has conjectured the method of escape from evidence left by the fugitive, such as my fat lazy turtle sitting right where the other one jumped off of him, and the trail of water from where he landed (it was a nice soft piece of cardboard. A perfect getaway plan). It was difficult to track him once he escaped to the carpet because the law enforcement of that country stopped me from engaging in open manhunting. Or I guess turtlehunting. Whatever he was trying to get to the toilet in order to complete the escape back into the open sea (he would have been taken into Puget Sound, shit's cold there he woulda died in like 5 minutes what a dumbass) but fortunately I caught him before he could leap off the top of the toilet.

"In 1930, members of the Boston Police Department raided a turtle race at which spectators paid a fee to sponsor a turtle and won a box of candy if their turtle was victorious. The police confiscated the turtles and candy and the organizer of the race was fined $60."

I don't really like Stromae from what I heard of him. I often dislike both his voice and the way he sings, which seem to be the main reason people like him, so... @_@ His lyrics aren't excessively deep either, although not shallow enough to call him out on it.

Something like Pigalle, Renaud or Les Fatal Picards is about the lyrics first, so not understanding them changes a bunch of things (although in the song I linked François Hadji-Lazaro's physique does a bunch for the song's atmosphere too, I'd like to see him live). I like that French style (at least it seems common in French music) to have a bouncy tune but the lyrics are dark and sung by a man with a deep, gravelly voice.

Just finished reading Parfit's "Why anything? Why this?" And I think I get what he's getting at now. At least I think I know what he's going on about. With Philosophy you can never know. Okay I'm done. You guys can go back to discussing music now.
