The whole league system is apparently pretty obscure, but you can generally expect to gain more points in lower divisions. There are 2 different reasons you could be getting those low LP gains. Either your MMR is very low compared to where you are at, or your uncertainty rating is very high after a winning streak. Second story.....silly people. idk, i've dropped to silver 2 a few times like a month ago and my mmr seemed to "reset" as in I started getting more point gain/loss after dropping and promoting again. I think my MMR is super low because I am always the highest ranked person on my team in solo queue. However, I usually get the bottom side of the picks (4th/5th) so I'm in this hole where I'm the highest ranked but get my least favored positions (support/jungle) and it either turns out really well as in win with like 40/10 score all inhibs before tower lost or we just get rolled. This has been happening for a while and I usually split even my games 50/50. It's really frustrating because 1) I barely see any point difference/visual progress 2) whenever I duoqueue with my friend in the same league,division,tier I am always last pick (10 straight games regardless of who hosts so I am sure I have super low MMR) and get my worst positions. I feel like this system screws me over and it sucks.
Your position in the team should not depend on your MMR. Yes, the internal order of the team is by MMR, but so is the matchmaking, so unless you are the person with the lowest MMR in the world you should get an even split of all pick positions.
If you go roughly 50/50, you should not see any influence pointwise unless for some reason your MMR and your league placement are disjointed. If you go 50/50, and don't see large changes pointwise, your MMR and your league fit together.
If you are duo queuing, even if your partner is only the very slightest quantity of MMR above you, you will always be last pick. The reason for this is that the matchmaking inflates your MMR for matchmaking purposes if you duo, but NOT for the internal positions within your team. Meaning if you duo with 2 people at nearly equal MMR, you always get 4th and 5th pick. If you duo with someone a lot higher, he always gets first and you get last. (Which is incredibly retarded in general and should be changed, as it absolutely discourages duoing with someone at your skilllevel.)
However, if you are solo, the matchmaking does not screw you over, no matter how low your elo is, unless you are the person with the lowest elo in the world. The only thing that can happen is that your league will lower until you match your MMR. I think you misinterpret how things work. The leagues are purely cosmetic, and having a lower/higher MMR then your league does not influence what type of games you get. Anything between clicking on "match me" and the score screen is solely influenced by MMR. Anything on the score screen and your league display is also influenced by your league position.
I think you are majorly biased in how you perceive the games, and that influences what you think is happening. Try keeping track of what pick position you are actually at instead of going by rough feels.

I thought I found the key to free Elo, just play support all day and win lane while making calls and looking at map. And then you get games like my last one.
I picked thresh first pick, cool. their bot lane Janna/Quinn, my AD picks Ashe. I zone the crap out of quinn, like hard. She like 20 CS behind, getting bullied. Was level 3, Janna gets caught in awkward spot so I go on her, get her to like 50 HP without Ashe doing anything (keep in mind, I put lantern down for her, so like... straight up all she had to do was auto once, or click lantern once. Instead she flashes in, wiffs her W, cancels two autos so they miss and dies after popping barrier.
I am autoing whole time as Thresh, get a double kill with no assists because straight up ashe didn't even breath on them.
I'm okay with players no having the greatest mechanics, but holy crap thats brutal. Worst yet, I got flamed by four people afterwards for being greedy.

Well, the afks and disconnects have returned in their full vengeance! On massive losing streak (probably like 2-15 during this time). went from nearly up for my series for plat to gold 3. I'd say maybe 4-5 disconnects/afks that cost the game, 1-2 that were swung because my team overcame the person being gone for 5-10 minutes, perhaps 2 or 3 games where I actually played bad. At some point I started losing like nearly 40 LP a game. What the hell. Thank you disconnects cropping up in the middle of my losing streak.

Holy crap..it's next to impossible to win a game today. Support,mid,carry, jungle fuck! Afkers feeders,just plain retards.
Support game was pretty much done and dusted...despite our pantheon literally being complete fool, i managed to save him a few times, and prevent feeding tryndamere..then he just went total retard and dived into 1v5s, and the rest of the team trying to save him just got sucked in...one by one. Tryndamere just got fully fed and then another guy had to dc....gg.
The rest of the game were pretty much every other lanes just feeding or losing, because of some guy being afk and the other person not being able to 1v2.
3 of these games we did not even have to surrender because they ended before 20.
I should've probably expected this after the row of wins I got last week.

You can shit on Singed, you just need to know how and what champs to use. Singed can kill creeps hella fast, but he can't really kill towers well. Galio is another champion I've seen that can beat him, although it's a bit of an uncommon pick.
