Anyway setting aside a good 2 hours for Maru vs Serral tomorrow If Maru's games vs Lambo are any indication (and it's likely they're not) Maru doesn't want to play late game and will try and win in the midgame like Byun did. The series was over so quickly vs Lambo because he just clobbered him in the midgame even when Lambo had favorable openings. I don't know if Maru is stubborn enough to try that against Serral who looks almost unbeatable in that kind of game, but he's for sure going to try and beat Solar that way at least at first. | ||

The one thing that Maru might try that the other late game TvZ terrans I've watched haven't is making use of Speed Banshees. Maru's done it before, but they've always been more of a novelty than a staple of his playstyle. | ||

They retired and went to the military, sure. But so have other players from other races. Why do you think more protoss retired, and are not comming back to the game in the same proportion as other players? If they believed they could win, they wouldn't be going to BW like Deer. They know the state of the balance, you know the state of the balance. you can't keep trying to hide the sun with a finger. Yes, Zerg has great players, but you can't possibly say they are all better and than T and Protoss and have been for 5+years. | ||

He got bopped when he tried to play MMM mid-game but usually won the late-game map splits | ||

So you say that Maru would have better chance in late game, but Serral killed him before that. Now Serral will have even better chances in mid-game (hydra buff), so even harder for Maru to survive until late-game. And if he does - now Zerg late-game (BLs and ultras) was buffed and Terran (ghosts) was nerfed. Whatever chance Maru would have vs Serral with old patch - situation is probably significantly worse for him now. | ||
