Dark vs Showtime 3-2, SoO vs Special 3-2 and finally SoO vs Showtime 3-1. When will Blizzard act? Results like this can only be explained by gross imbalance! In any other meta, Dark or SoO would have had zero chance to win those matches. I'm highly disgruntled Edit: This is all sarcasm. Not sure if it would be obvious in the current climate....
soO lost to Dark? For me that is the most surprising result from today... I guess soO ZvZ is not what is used to be huh, because Dark is seriously terrible at it.
Showtime and Special did not have a chance today, lets be real here guys. Only EU Zergs could beat Korean Zergs in this day and age of SC2...
Showtime actually played well overall, except in the last game vs soO. He outplayed Dark in the first game, but after that the nyduses started catching up with him. Map 3 vs Dark (Disco Bloodbath) perfectly illustrated the problems with the design and balance of the nydus. He was already down 60 supply after taking major damage from the first locust wave, then he tried to deny the whack-a-mole by dropping immortals at the second nydus and managed to snipe it with some nice micro. So the swarm hosts just drop another wave at the original nydus instead. By the time he cleans that up and heads back down to the other spot, there's another two finished nyduses there. The look on his face said it all at that point.

Terrible? Dark's ZvZ rating is 2nd highest in Korea, and is 120 points above soO's.

Dark's ZvZ rating on Aligulac is carried hard by his overall rating(and, especially, by his ZvT). soO hasn't been winning many ZvZ in this patch, too.

Aren't vP / vZ / vT ratings independant of each other? Especially considering global rating is just the mean of vP/vT/vZ ratings.

I don't understand what this statement means. Moreover, Dark went 3-0 against soO recently. A 3-2 score is hardly surprising.

I don't know why you say Dark is terrible at it. Some of the best ZvZ I can ever recall seeing was Dark vs soO.

They are not completely independant, no.
If only one of two matchups are played in a certain period, the other(s)' rating will vary; look at Serral's rating history, for example: in the last period, he played only vsP and vsZ but his vsT rating increased as much as his overall rating(the average between his vsP and vsZ increase). Alternatively, check his list 234: Serral went 4-0 in ZvZ and all of his ratings increased by the amount his vsZ did.
Edit: Now that I think of it, this just doesn't feel right. This way racial specific ratings can influence each other, and I believe this is happening on a regular basis.
Specifically, on Serral's list 234, why would all of his rating increase by 15 if his vZ did? His vP and vT should stay the same while his overall rating should increase by 1/3 of the amount.

I Think, the guys behind Alligulac desidet to programm it this way, because if someone becomes an better played over all, but didn t Play all matchups equally, the Ratings would also be strong. For example, if an EU Zerg gets way better over like 1 year, because je goes full time, but plays way more vs Z than vs P and bearly any vsT, his Rating now reflects that he s stronger over all. With your method, the vsT Rating would be much worse and the vs Z Rating much better than his over all Rating. But that would be strong, as the Player just got better over all, no matter the match up.
Think only Special can feel disappointed with his showing today, his builds against soO gave him possibilities but he just didn’t quite execute today. Didn’t play terribly either but didn’t seize some of his opportunities, Showtime played pretty damn well but his opponents were a bit stronger today.

SH + Nydus is just disgusting to watch in general I rather watch ZvZ all day than another ZvP with SH/ Nydus at this point. And we just started
yeah I was surprised they thought Showtime was doomed for a short while. I thought Dark was in a poor position when his nydus attack began to fizzle out.

yeah I can't see him winning lategame against other top players. He approaches lategame too much like the midgame, trying to surround/outmaneuver the enemy with a lot of mobile units instead of taking advantage of zerg's really strong spellcasters.
dark vs showtime was just infuriating to watch. dark was 3-0 in the games he built a nydus canal and those games made me want to never watch him play vs protoss ever again. and 0-2 in the games he didn't
Well this will probably make some korean elitists gasp, but I thought that Showtime looked like he played the best overall of anyone in the group. Sure, he made some bad mistakes in a couple games, but so did they all. In general, he was having to work way harder because of the maps and matchup, but looked more impressive while doing it.
