That's true to be honest, maybe the hype behind Maru vs Serral will start to settle down. Unless Maru wins 3 GSLs again and Serral wins all the WCS events

I just don't think Serral was on his A-game for this series.

Yes finally! Here it is guys, Serral lost because he was sick. Korean elitists probably poisoned his drinks.

Seriously though, I do kinda agree with him. After Game 4, Serral went to put on his headphones and his hands were literally shaking. He adjusted his headset several times and wiped his forehead so his hair went all weird (that's why I remembered it).

I think it was nerves and not illness, but yeah, Serral was definitely not on top of his mental game today.

Nah they both had the same conditions. Also Inno didn't look that sharp today either. Just feels like excuses to me.
I admit Serral looked super nervous and kind of scared or not in it but that's kinda his fault ain't it (can't really say which emotions were there for sure just very emotional for his standards)

Whatever it was, it looked weird. The casters were mentioning that this was fairly normal for Serral, and maybe I'm just used to GSL players having fairly robotic reactions, he just seemed kinda...off. Inno is my favorite player of all time and I think GSL is still by far the toughest tourney in the world, so I'm stoked with the result, I'm just wondering if anyone else was thrown off when they showed shots of Serral.

Of course these are excuses. The same people who laugh at "MAru doesn't care" are now proclaiming Serral almost dying at the stage.
I imagine France should be able to take this unless Lilbow is busy practicing for Starcraft III. | KadaverBB is my fairy ban mother.

Is it really that controversial to point out that Serral's ZvT is underdeveloped compared to his other matchups lol

Yes because he was really really sick to the point he could barely hold a mouse and still almost beat the best terra in the world.
This is just further prove that he's the first SC2 bonjwa, imagine him in shape... Inno would've stood no chance

this tourney once again leaves a bitter taste with all the technical difficulties, lags, pauses, questionable production and the handling of the draw was the icing on the cake

imho all players were affected by it to some degree and lead to lower level of play than usual

Come on, it's obvious. At one point he even had to play with his tongue on a trackpad, instead of holding a mouse, that's how bad it was.

no one mentioned this, but in the last game Serral either made too many drones or was too late to build his roaches, Inno just walked across the map completely undeterred with a much bigger army supply and when his siege tanks were already very well setup a ton of roaches were still to hatch, we all know what happened next.
So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie

It's not, it is controversial to say that it's straight up bad.
3-4 vs INno (4-6 if you count Katowice I guess) isn't a bad results, he still probably is one of the best zvt player in the world but not has good his other match up.

Probably the best zvt of all foreigner not living in Korea, so if he work on it/ goes to KR for a while he could be fine.

No, it's very obvious to anyone that is not a rabid Serral fan who can't accept that Serral does in fact have weaknesses.

Not rocket science either, Serral is a European who lives and plays in Europe. Who can he practice with that's on the level of top Korean Terrans?

As semi-rabid Serral fan, I hastily note that of course Serral has weaknesses! Question is: Relative to what or who?

Even his weakest match up cannot be said to be weak if we compare across whole field, or only if we just look at the pool of top players.

It was not like Inno had easy milkrun in a park today, right? Serral put best resistance against him than anyone else in the tournament.

"Serral's ZvT is underdeveloped compared to his other matchups lol"

Was what the OP said, and that's a very obvious truth, since it's relative to his ZvP and ZvZ.

Certainly Serral has excellent ZvT, he's beaten Inno before after all, and took him to Game 7 here. But I would argue that Rogue and Dark have a better understanding of how to play against top Terrans–just watch how Rogue took Inno apart at IEM.
