I for one had a blast watching. GG Inno and GG serral. I enjoyed finals too. Was not trying to sound salty that Inno and Serral's HSCs were not considered premier tournament but just wanted to throw the point out there since someone mentioned HSC tbh.

We saw some really good SC2 action in the finals and instead of being happy about that, we have these senseless discussion...

Yeah, me too. They say that inno defeated serral because of *insert reason here*. Same goes the other way. Like they are taking away the credit of each other's victory.

Next planned one is GSL v World I guess That's definitely something to be sad about... those Korea vs The Rest tourneys are always the most fun ones

But one can hope, I really enjoyed last year Nation Wars where I was able to see it live. Too bad I ended up hyping Serral like crazy to my friend who doesn't follow sc as much but he lost two times to soO :x Other than that I guess we'll have to wait until GSL vs the world to see top kor fight top foreigners again (and maybe a few foreigners in GSL now that the rules that made everyone but Scarlett leave have been reversed for the next GSL seasons)

I'm guessing it's because the prize pool was smaller (I believe around 10k) since when Zest won HSC XVI, it had 20k prize pool and was considered Premier tournament. Still, it's odd that the one that Serral won also had 20k prize pool but is still considered Major tournament. For sake of consistency, I think they may as well make all HSCs premier tournament. Yes, it's the prize-pool, i believe the cut off is at 20.000$, or around there. So sometimes HSC is listed as premier and sometimes not.

At first I thought it was as you say and after that I thought it was determined by first prize being above 10k; still, Starcraft Starleague(SSL), whose pool is 11 k and 2k for the winner, is a Premier while Guangzhou Carnival is a Major despite having 47k as prize pool and 31k for the winner(it was played offline as well so that's not the reason). This one is not a lone exception, there are a dozen if you look for them.
