Because we don't see lategame ZvZ very often in professional play, it is easy to see that Serral was winning the entire game. When you have a bank in lategame, having less workers is an advantage due to the bigger army supply and the bank to keep max. Combine that with the fact that Serral trades so efficiently and lost less Vipers in each engagement. He just had to wait for Rogue to dry his gas bank out. Serral is just soooo smart in late game. I was a little confused when there were people saying Rogue at the advantage. Serral had 3k more gas, 6-8k minerals and Rogue had 8k minerals and no gas and 20-30 more workers. Serral had the advantage for most of that late game imo. I mean, if Rogue didn't consistently lose the viper battles he could take it, but he lost every single one of them, in every other aspect he was doing great. Rogue played godlike there... but so did Serral. There were only small advantages like the one you mention, but those were almost always in favour of Serral. Overall Serral the better player today.

Look at serral's history, he was nothing worthy of note during his early years. Certainly no Flash/Life His history has just started. If I remember correctly, Serral was actually prophesied to become a star player way, way back when it was fair to call him a kid. It's just pretty uncommon to see those predictions come true, especially like this I remember Reynor being praised as a future start back when he was like 14 too. Looks like young foreign Zergs deliver.

Yeah, for every Serral that we predict correctly, there's half a dozen Dreams in the background.

What I don't get is why it isn't okay to recklessly cheer for your favorite player, exaggerate their achievements / etc. Sports has always been tribal...
Just let Serral fans have fun here, you can choose to ignore comments you don't agree with. In the ASL 6 thread I wasn't knocking everyone who thought Flash was gonna completely beat Effort...I just didn't respond and let the games speak for themselves. If Serral isn't that great, Stats will beat him and you'll have the last laugh. In the meantime just let fanboys be fanboys, on either side.

The especially combative people seem to be the ones that are happy Serral won, not the other way around.
fair. There was this time when you guys posted a Serral pre-blizzcon testimony and these same characters decided to crap in it. I mean like there was too little of it all around the site btw i myself never called neither of the superlative. I do think he is the best foreigner zerg ever touched sc2.

I guess this thread is still mild, if you compare it to when Stephano was winning vs Koreans
|
The only argument I've ever heard from serral haters have been his non participation in code s. Can we start deciding on who to be a fan of by their play pls.

Yo why is everybody counting Stats out, this could be really close!

Lol TL korean elitists are some of the weirdest people I voluntarily deal with. I swear if Serral was born in SK and came up through some Kespa team you would worship this guy to no end. Look at the disbelief in Rogues face at the end of game 4. The formerly best macro Zerg in the world just played his heart out and he felt helpless. Maru was born in SK, he dominated the Korean scene the same way Serral did thr foreign and NONE OF YOU declared him Bonjwa. By far the biggest player achievement. By far the hardest competition on the Earth. And yet the discussion was closed. And now we have Serral, who won an invitational, lsot the onlly offline game against Maru, never won Korean starleague title(not talking about back to back win), is dominating the easier competition(from the 8 best players at Blizzcon only 2 advanced from groups) and he should be declared Bonjwa because his fans say so? Seriously?

He's saying take Serral's skill level now and drop him into the peak of the Kespa era.
Kind of irrelevant thing to add from me, but yeah, Serral didn't do much his early years back before he had to go to school and couldn't commit fully to the game
