And now tell me with a straight face that he would be considered player of the year over Maru. He wouldn't, we both know it. Serral just gets the foreigner hype bonus. Yeah you should have results in the major sc2 tournament if you want to have the best feats in the year... Serral ftw! Absolute beast and best player of 2018 no doubt! Maru is a great second :-)

Yeah you should have results in the major sc2 tournament if you want to have the best feats in the year... TRUE would totally be considered player of the year, because he'd have beaten the Korea-based Koreans in the tournaments where they met, just like Serral. Look at how prime TaeJa was considered as at least on par with Korea-based Koreans, and often better : that was because he dominated foreign events and beat the supposedly superior "real" Koreans when they met. Same with Serral. Oh, and there's also how you win. Serral looked absolutely without equal here, and from what I can gather it was pretty much the same for his WCS wins. A TRUE who'd be as dominant would absolutely be considered as godlike.

Serral can only beat who they put in front of him, and he did that.

So the time has come when non-korean is the best player in the World! It is really impressive and important moment in the history of StarCraft!

They just clutched it out when it counted like Serral. also the comparison isn't very good to begin with because basketball/football don't have a GSL-equivalent. Which year? 11/12 Chelsea won the CL true, but they didn't win Premier League by a large margin like Serral did WCS. They were placed 6th. Bad example on your part. I also didn't include curling or golf. What's your point? I did mention the US system though with conferences and divisions which does support my argument IMO. Feel free to argue though
