I get what you're saying, but Maru doesn't have an equal right now it seems, as opposed to Jaedong who had Flash. Rogue is the closest, probably, but not on an equal footing the way Jaedong and Flash were at that point.

You don't become a bonjwa for being good for half a year. Back in the days it took more than that.

And Rogue crushed him at IEM? You don't get to do this off a 3 month window. Anyway I'm going to stop here, since I've already said I hate bonjwa talk.

5/7 GSL were won by Terrans on LOTV and each time we heard "Byun is a god", "Gumiho is best", "Innovation best players of the world", now it's just Maru's turn.
Maru could have dominated the scene from the start of LOTV if he was really above every players. He did not.
It's just the meta right now favors his agressive playstyle, and probably the other kor play worst due to region lock/kespa team disbands.

the problem of "bonjwa" term is you guys can't reach a same agreement.Without a standard arguing about this is pointless.

TIL you have to be an expert to say that Flash did better than Jaedong during his era

Maru did worse last year than he did now. Just like nhow INno did trash the first year of LoTV, or how ByuN has done much worse in the last year. Or how Zest won the first GSL in LoTV and was borderline irrelevent the next year etc etc

no it's actually incredibly lame that the foreign community obsesses over it when people stopped taking it seriously in Korea once the fad passed in 2010~2011

sOs Trap Cure Creator arent overperforming, Maru/Rogue weren't too good in 2017 ( except Rogue in the last half of the year ).

If I'm correct Maru has also narrowly surpassed Jaedong as Starcrafts top earner
