Maru could have dominated the scene from the start of LOTV if he was really above every players. He did not.
It's just the meta right now favors his agressive playstyle, and probably the other kor play worst due to region lock/kespa team disbands. Great theory but he said he practices much harder this year than before so I guess that's the reason for his results. you wouldn't see this kind of result in final if SKT,KT...ect.. were still a thing.i really dislike thier disbanding decision for a reason JA players don't simply become good for no reason you know Well you say that but guys like soO and INno actually did much better the year SKT disbanded. It varies from player to player.
The only Jin Air player who's done drastically better after the disbanding was Rogue. The others have been getting similar results to before. sOs, Creator, and Cure are actually doing worse. Maru is doing better than his HotS self but not by a huge amount.

and do not count sOs out

Maru has cleaned sweep so much this year!
IEM Season XII - World Championship - Semi Finals World Electronic Sports Games 2017 - Winner 2018 Global StarCraft II League Season 1/Code S - Winner 2018 Global StarCraft II League Season 2/Code S - Winner
Netting him a cool $300,000 at the half way point of the year! Can he dominate and take home a blizzcon title? Three GSL championships in a row?

For sure. The only ones that have any chance to stop him are Rogue or TY maybe. TvP he's untouchable.

For me a win or a 2nd place in season 3 might do it.
Alternatively a top 8 next season and a win in the Global finals.

Maru winning at least the next GSL and perhaps Blizzcon seals it for me. Others might have higher standards and require having Maru dominate next year too. Bonjwa is the stupidest thing the Korean BW community ever made and I hate it. But if I had to entertain the idea for a second, if the community didn't allow Jaedong the title for his 2009~2010 run, then Maru doesn't deserve it for his first-half 2018 performances.
You just hate fun

Right but I think it's pretty cool that we have a player good enough that there's discussion about it. We don't have that often in SC2. no it's actually incredibly lame that the foreign community obsesses over it when people stopped taking it seriously in Korea once the fad passed in 2010~2011
Now thats just gatekeeping
But anyway I'll be having fun discussing the b- word

Congrats on the win Maru, another title. He's making up for lost time!. Comiserations to Zest who did well to get to the finals.

"Wack" - Hannibal Buress
Let Maru win another GSL and I think it'll be pretty hard to get him off the GOAT train. Whatever label we use, Maru may be well on his way to being the Flash of SC2. Guess we'll have to see how it pans out, but my guess would be that Maru will win another season.
Rather than "God", I think of Maru as some kind of Lovecraftian cosmic monster, like Cthulu

Bonjwa or goat in this very reduced korean scene seems like a big overstatement, I don't enven rank MAru on the top 3 T considering the opposition. Except for jin air, all the teams disbanded since 2 years, there are no fresh blood at all, a lot of retirement, Maru is very strong but come on, Zest was way better before, as it has been said, in the long run, the jin air players benefit from their training, the direct emulation, the coach ext. Their mechanics (especially Rogue and Maru) are always on top while the others can slump pretty hard.

The top 3 spots are all left blank. Nobody is good enough.

I wish Blizzard would work on improving TvP, even though the balance is alright it's just not very interesting to watch because it's always early aggression now and usually ends with a single timing attack.

As ive always said, terran can be pretty op in the right hands, but it takes mad skills.

Mvp, inno and Taeja impressed me way more. "LOL" The same can be said about Life who will always surclass Rogue. 2 years old poster, you must have no idea of whom I'm talking.
