Just watch the Hearthstone tournament, you'll fall asleep before you know it.
The Hearthstone group stage is BO7 by the way.
Oh yeah, I might actually watch since I randomly picked a player that will win me packs if he does well. I hope he is still in.
Rather watch ESL PL Finals Clown9 vs Optic then Sleepstone... You could also watch Overwatch if you want to learn about bad observing.
I don't enjoy team games. Would defintely watch some quake if that was still a thing, the lack of 1v1 games makes me sad. There is only sc2 and passionstone.
Liquid Civ 6 will save you. You can watch Back2Warcraft, the qualifier for WCA America is running.

Not sure about the comparison since I don't know anything about guitars but the skill level in sc2 definitely isn't as high as it was a couple years ago.
Aaaaaaand you just took that right out of your ass.

I don't think you need to be a scientist to regognize that. we had like 30 retirements the last 3 years in the KR scene with almost no new blood coming in

Are Hearthstone games that short ? Oo
Some are short. But a lot of them take forever. Pros usually think about their play until the rope almost runs out.
You actually watch hearthstone? WHAT?
Every now and then I watch a game and afterwards I ask myself what I'm doing because that game doesn't make a lot of sense.
I actually like watching personal hearthstone streams, as you can think with them about which move to make and then see if they do it different than what you would do. But I just can't really enjoy the professional scene when there's so many retarded random cards in the game that effect games in a big way. Like how can you cheer for someone getting a better minion from a 'spawn random minion' card.
This is why players need coaches and a support team =[
Yeah, absolutely!
But now I really hope Nerchio wins the ZvZ, he is just way more experienced and confident on the big stage agains top Koreans. Something like this would never happen to him, instead he always stays calm and can even come back against players like TY.

I feel sorry for Snute. He beat Rain and Classic in their primes after their GSl/SSL wins and didnt get half this hype.
That result came right after he had the following results vs koreans:
0-3 loss to Innovation (completely outclassed - you can just watch the VODS). 0-2 Jaedong 0-2 Rain 1-4 Trap
YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCES!!!
Those were clearly just outliers. There was no reason to belive Snute was actually a top 5-10 player at that time.
But generally speaking, foreigners are playing much closer up against koreans today than they were 1½+ years ago.
also he got crushed 3:0 by TY right after his wins over classic and Rain.
Yes hence my point: Stuchio's tweet is deceiving because Snute's results back then were clearly just upsets and were never bound to be repeated on a somewhat regularly fashion.
On the other hand, if you look at most of the results (or watch the games) from 2016 when top 20 koreans have met top 10 foreigners, you will not see a significant difference in the skill level.
Koreans are still a tad ahead, but it has definitely narrowed alot.
adding to the discussion about viewer counts... the viewer count definitely drops when we have all the "expert talk" and the viewer count rises during games.... it has gone up and down several times now.
people are here to watch SC2 games and not here to listen to "expert talk".
what i'd prefer is the non-stop starcraft action of a 128 player MLG bracket
i hope MLG is in charge of next years SC2 competition.
