Normally there's a relative balance between america, europe and rest of the world in WCS tournament. This one is totally for AM region. The format is more than bizarre. Moreover, this tournament is the last chance to win a place at blizzcon. This could have been the epic last fight to get to olympia, this is just a 2nd zone tournament with lot of easy money for Showtime. I'm watching it only because there's no SC2 to watch today beside this one. I think this topic has been discussed to death. No one is arguing these players are code s level. Blizzcon is not the tournament where best players duke it out. All players will represent their countries/regions there. these players may not be korean (except hydra) but they still are some of the best in the world.. any of these players, except maybe 1 or 2 of them, are capable of giving great bo5/bo7 or even winning it vs the absolute top koreans no more magic shrooms for you. there are about 2 players who you can count on to take a map or maybe two off of the very top koreans, another 2-3 who can do it when they are on their very best. But honestly I don't see any of them winning a BO5/BO7 in a GSL/SSL setting where games matters the most and koreans have been specifically practicing for that player. This Noonius guy seems to be quite reasonable (except of the hate of Maru) :-) in fact, the times when Snute and Scarlett were invited to SSL they "randomly" drew the hardest possible opponents and got destroyed. Also they invited MacSed and gave him Rain. And Jim who got Maru :D Looking back at SSL, they "randomly" and "totally not on purpose" had these foreigner vs Korean matchups: Jim vs Maru Scarlett vs TY MacSed vs PartinG INnoVation vs Snute Rain vs Toodming (got that one wrong, but he forfeited because of the MERS outbreak in Korea at the time) But hey, at least Jim won a map. Scarlett also won a map, defending a 2rax INnoVation vs Snute though, that was where foreign dreams went to die.

no it wouldn't. If you think you're that good, you should be able to beat whoever comes up from open bracket. Complaining about seeding and then losing pretty much shows that you didn't deserve higher seeding after all.

Scarlett beat a GSL champion on this map. Iaguz doesn't stand a chance.

iaguz always struck me as a pure macro player, mass units Bomber style and go overwhelm. Every time he does a micro intensive build I'm surprised for a moment.

The point is that you should be seeded based on your results in the qualification pertaining to the very event, not point accumulated over the year

While he does those quite a bit... his micro is not as good as that of other foreign Terrans on the same level.

seeding is the prerogative of the organizer. It was their decision. Plus since the tournament awards wcs points so close to blizzcon, seeding based on points seems ok.

Oh, I forgot that most players go Roach in ZvT. TRUE made me dream again. =/

Really? It seems like a good thing to you to have a system where already having more points makes it easier for you to obtain even more?

Iaguz really impressive so far

Are we going to see some tweets after this map?
