Pylons just die super fast to roaches, so the damage over time is just too low to whittle down the zerg army. Well, doesn't help they nerfed pylon overcharge to make it weaker against Terran without doing anything to help against early Zerg pressure/all-ins.

In the 2nd game he had 2 pylons at the front, the first one just died super quick because his mothership core was out of position when the attack started.

The other option is going forge/sentries but then zerg gets up to 90 drones on 2 gold bases faster than you can say "90 vs 200 supply".

One in the main at the edge to spot for nydus/drop shenanigans, two in the wall to defend a straight up attack, next ones go to the third. You end up with 2 overcharges that don't cut it vs an attack that hits in one place this early. I'm pretty sure everyone agrees the easy gold bases aren't a good idea, well, almost everyone
