Matches can be epic for different reasons. Long macro games give you that "slow burn" epicness where both players are building up and trying to find incremental advantages; but short, back and forth games with all-ins and timing attacks are nice for the clutch starsense and micro. Like, when you know the stakes are high and the player has put everything on the line, and needs to win it all with just a handful of zerglings, that's epic too. So props to both Life and sOs, ggs, and gl in LotV!

(also, did anyone else get flashbacks to the Life/Parting GSL final where the last map was also Iron Fortress, and Life again did an early zergling rush? I wonder if sOs remembered....)

No, long macro games like the one yesterday Classic vs. herO are making people leave SC2 for other games, They are so boring. Never epic.

I'd rather watch 7 30 minute drg vs innovation, taeja vs innovation, jd vs dear, curious vs innovation, flash vs hyvaa, ryung vs flash, then the shit we just saw.

Notice any pattern emerging between the series you listed?

Like the correlation between "Terran" and "good games"?

I again have to ask why you were expecting great macro games from a PvZ.

I thought the highlight of Dear/JD was game 5 where Dear lost with a 2 base all-in to a sick burrow trap.

I thought that was the only good part of that series.

It was the only good game of the series, but that's the type of game I'm referencing.

It is? The other games you mentioned are long macro games (Flash vs hyvaa?).

That was the one where Flash became paranoid and then never moved out of his base right?

The good macro hyvaa game was vs Innovation in GSTL

Flash became paranoid after he lost his army a few times, forgot about hyvaa vs innovation thanks for the reminder.

game 6 and 7 were intense. i have a hard time imagining any other protoss holding off that ling/baneling all-in. was pulling for Life, but i am happy enough with the results.

i would have been furious if HotS ended on an immortal sentry all-in (though it would have been fitting). so glad Life sniped that warp prism.

Forge first is a build order win vs gas/pool.

yeah because the forge totally won him that game

There have been good pvz games, and good zvz games. Freaky vs Life is top 5 best game ever played, and thats something thats a "fun" game.

According to this lr thread every game is at least a 4.5star game.

wait for legacy. The gameplay will be so hilaribad at first because noone has any real clue and the game is so imbalanced that you wish you could go back to that finals.
And then the nature of the game will just make for so many more build order wins with the amount of units and the ramp up of the economy in general.

Stop flooding the thread with negativity. You are obviously a very vocal minority. Just agree to disagree with everyone? Stop trying to make the point your opinion is right? Its not like you can convince people to not have fun, its too late for that.
In PvZ the zerg can make the situation spire out of control but protoss can adept to the situation.

I think it's because he was on NSH as well as his game vs that protoss (ace?) that resulted in carriers.

He also only used them lol
