Combined, these factors make it easier for low-level players to analyse their mistakes and develop their early game mechanics. They also split the game into separate macro/micro phases so the player can develop those skills sequentially instead of getting overly perplexed by attempting to do too much at once. They can then move onto two-base all-ins (similar reasoning, more difficult to execute) and then move onto taking a third base and playing the macro game. You've gotta learn to walk before you can run. Most Gold players can't even 4 Gate properly, yet alone macro properly on 3 bases. I can barely macro on 1 base, so it would probably be good for me.

If you can macro properly without getting distracted you can reach diamond with little to no strategy at all, just build units and expand without getting supply capped. A successful cheese is based on the current meta which is based on high level play. Saying a cheese is like riding a bike with training wheels is entirely missing the point. You say you gotta learn to walk before you can run, but walking in this case is macro. Beating Usain Bolt in a 100 m run is micro.

Both of them tbh. the chances were decent to play an american in the ro32 and then get the first player out of Korea/Snute/Bunny in the ro16. This happening earlier is probably not that good news for either of them.

It's not to have a platform to improve. It's just to have fun. Playing SC2 "properly" is extremely difficult and stressful. Not what people want from a game, necessarily.

The thing is, if you're bad enough, even the macro required to successfully perform a 4gate is challenging. Source: I'm silver.

Its all about the inflection in your sentences while you're speaking. Its a trait quite a few sorority girls have but I know plenty without it
