Lol Snute with the brilliant scouting. Stopping ForGG from pulling off anything "cheeky"

LR START! GO!
And we're at the veto table, between ForGG and Snute. Didn't quite catch them. Their record is 5-4 for ForGG, but Snute has won 2 of them in team leagues, so 1v1 is favorable to ForGG. Snute is #15 in the WCS right now, so he's the #foreignHope! Apollo mentions Vortix as a candidate as well. But can he stay in the top 16 to get to the Blizzcon finals? And we're stating, ladies and gentlemen! All issues resolved, and we're in the game. MATCH 1 -Snute vs ForGG Overgrowth. Snute starts bottom left, ForGG top right. 2:00 ForGG starts things up with a proxy Rax! 2:25 Second proxy rax! 4:00 Bunker on the lowground and 3 marines beside it,. Second bunker ghoing down once the first finished. Snute's first spine finishes but at a 1/3 life. Second spine is crawling down from the top. Snute loses the natural expo. 5:45 He just salvages the bunkers and goes home witht he marines and the proxy raxes. As Demu promptly points out "the world is his oyster now". He can do anything. 6:30 Snute retakes the natural. Shortly after he takes a third. ForGG is going for a third CC as well as a factory now. 8:00 Baneling Nest for snute. Snute is up to 43 workers while, ForGG has 35. Double factory into blue flame hellions for ForGG. 10:00 Armory going down for ForGG. Looks to put that last hellbat patch to good use! ForGG denies some creep and pushes with about 10 hellions and another 25 supply of bio.Snute trying to defend with few banelings and the spines, but ForGG takes the third down. 12:30 forGG moves into the natural, he spreads against banelings, kills the natural and just wins. GG! Casters remark that ForGG has studied Snute's style quite well. GAME 2 Snute vs ForGG - Alterzim Stronghold! Snute spawns at the bot left, ForGG at the top right! Cross positions don't seem to be favoured for terran. We'll see if ForGG can make up for it. 2:30 Snute-14, ForGG-15 Both of them go for a expo first. Greed is the name of the game.
4:45 Not much going on yet. Speed for Snute, ForGG sees the gas but loses the Scout SCV. He goes for a reactor in the rax and a factory. Looks like hellions again. ForGG going for a proxy factory! The SCV passes by an overlord and Snute finds it quickly with a ling. No shenanigans.

I've also seen this build by terran many times on Overgrowth in particular, perhaps because they don't want to deal with the exposed third or they want to exploit the (somewhat) narrow areas near the zerg's third and natural For a long time in WoL, opening with 5-7 roaches to ward off BF hellions was very common. Maybe it will make a comeback. I'm not certain it was the best way to buff terran tbh, the issue is how to deal with 100 banes on creep in the late game, not the early/mid where terran already did quite well.
Still, I think the timing is narrow enough zergs can work this out.

Snute paying attention. This looks bad for ForGG. He will need good amounts of hellbat-magic (the kind of magic that makes zerg units disappear) to take this back

Really liking Demu as lead caster, clear and concise

7:30 ForGG goes for a third CC, also getting stim. He runs by with two hellions, killing maybe two drones and getting a great scout. Snute is going into Baneling Nest and Lair.

ESL is trying to nerf Snute on this map by causing monitor issues.

The timing should eventually be figured out, but the key will be for terrans to find a way to stifle zerg's eco/creep spread earlier on, rather than using a timing to kill the zerg. Unfortunately if zerg does get to that ~80 banelings stage I don't see what terran can do

I thought the idea is that by buffing terran in the early/mid game Zergs can't have 100 banes in the late game because they can't be so greedy ?

Avilo used to do it all the time. Like an American Fuzer, but less Finnish. And I watched Kyhol play in a cup and his next opponent was Naruto. I warned him in chat that Naruto was a one-baser. Then Naruto came into the chat and asked him to get it going. That felt awkward. Anyway, Naruto proceeded to one-base and lost. Good times.
