Solar has been Samsung's vP sniper since his debut so at least to me, he was #1 or #2 to advance from the group + Rain hasn't been playing like he used to for looong time. Was hoping for Solar and Life to advance but at least I got Solar. Congrats to Solar and ParalyzE!
Have you watched PL since Round 1 though? That was the last time Solar played well vs P pretty much.
I know but it's still one of his better MU's and he's definitely capable of playing pretty well vs P.

What units have you ever NOT seen proxy rushed in TvT?
The only one I can think of is a Raven or a Ghost. I've seen every other unit proxy rushed.
I've seen ghosts proxy rushed on streams a few times. SeleCT killed a terran who was 1 rax expanding (for some reason) with a ghost rush because he just sniped all the marines that were out.
I believe I've seen TLO do that too a very very long time ago on his stream, he annihilated every marine with snipe, it was hilarious.

lol.
Not sure what you mean by "lol." but I guess you're saying it was a huge surprise or something and everyone should be surprised. 2 big fan favorites who aren't as "dominant" as they used to be long-ish time ago lose to two other Code S RO16 players that are just less known and not as big names and some people are almost shocked. I'm not saying Life or Rain are bad, they are both really really good and for sure still favored over ParalyzE and Solar, but it's not like they are gonna win 90% sure.
Now...if one of the Zergs wins the last group, and Innovation makes it out 2nd, we will have 4 mirror matchups in the Ro8 (2 ZvZs, one PvP, and holy fuck, a TvT!)
It might be because I don't watch as many games as I used to but Starcraft II has looked very volatile to me for a very long time now (Dare I say since HOTS?). I was worried this would happen and hence I'm not that surprised. I miss the time where I could be confident that the player I was rooting for would win (and this was easy because it was Mvp !!)
