Oh. Yeah he made it over the threshold. Damn he's old.
I don't remember the last time I saw him play in an English speaking venue, but I guess TTeSports thinks he is doing well enough for the Ukranian/Russian market.
Also, hellions are good unit, I am playing +1 roach all the time because of this last patch.

Well I mean something easy you can pull of on every map. Just like a baneling roach allin or a blink allin vs a terran. I am not sure if it is on purpose by blizzard, that terran doesn't have powerful openers vs toss, or it is just an oversight. But now at least vs Zerg there is a good fast allin that every noob can pulloff (which is good for the ladder (I am serious, if only one race has ezpz tactics for noobs that get you up very far, the game ONLY is balanced at the very top and right below it not even close)
Also the lift to gold will get figured out soon, just like the lift to gold into marine/bunker allin
I really like this hellbat change. It's fun to see new strategies and tactics, and the very possibility will force zerg to play less greedy from now on, resulting in a decent buff to Terran overall.

this wasn't even close to an all in. MKP did one in PL on merry go round.
the fact that it wasn't planned as an allin doesn't say it is not a good possible 2 base allin tactics (which I didn't assume from that game, but from several games that won by that strat). Lets see if it gets figured out, zerg get less greedy, make some more roaches sooner and win anyways :D

I think I have seen it work on every map ever as well, not even sure there is a caveat to that.

In TvZ are you saying the lost it? Map dependent but never shirk a Terran's ability to be tricksey. Look at the recent development in the gold lift by MMA I think it was. with tanks, using a rax to sight and HARD containing zerg on it.
Just like in Arrested Development, there are always wins in the 11 *click click*
11/11. Working since sc2 has been released.
yeah... works so great, we see it sooo often recently. Also cheese !=allin And also: 11/11 is ez to defend, once scouted

I only played 5 rax reaper against Protoss too. And won all the time. It was great.

those qxc late game 3-3 reapers against Genius in TSL
Remember his little podium thing? That was a bit cringe worthy in retrospect, like he was banging his shoe at the UN about reaper balance in Beta.

Alright, as Z, I can forgive that. I had a buddy who loved to Reaper bunker rush in WoL. Was definitely... different, that explosive what ever was really underrated.

you're getting stupid. Maru did it in his ro16 group, against RorO in PL. Inno even pulled it off vP on alterzim in the ATC lol. It's probably the most imba build vZ if you're willing to take the risk.

I Korean 4-Gated a Zerg last month. And won.
So did Jim. Last Week. Stay free Jaedong.
4 gates are funny things in this day and age. You are hedging your build on how long someone has been playing, because I remember the strictest WoL defense of that, and them going, am I really getting fucking four gated? Where is the Twilight?
It was something like 4:30 Evo, spine and spore, followed by mass units. add second spine if scout indicates its needed (zealots)

I didn't say it doesn't work anymore, nor did I say it is never played anymore. Just not that often All I said is, that Terran finally got a useful/strong allin again or at least way to punish very greedy zerg. Which wasn't the case with reaper openings, or 3 reaper +6 hellions in the last few weeks where the zerg still could run away. And you sir, consequently writing about cheese, where I think if I didn't mispell it catastrophically, called it an ALL IN.

I open roach nowadays because of hellbat buff, my games vs illusion were just a terribly display of decision making (taking close 3rd on frost) and reaction time (letting his qxc hellions kill 10 drones while opening greedy 3cc). I mean for defending 2base timings with hellbat/marauder or hellbat/banshee/marine for example, I'm not sure if my roach ling opener is strong enough because of the strength of hellbats

You say suck I say lots of Gold ladder points.
You want to know what beats gold Terran? Lings with injects to match.
Interestingly enough, I've been playing a lot of "gold terrans" which are clearly not meant to be gold, it makes me angry since they're doing the whole new hellbat thing and getting a banshee.

I don't think that Illusion was quite as attentive to the patch as he could have been, I think that we'll see a reversion to static defense for about two weeks, to contend with the versatility that the transformability allows T. Did you give my regards to Midday btw?

Thanks, but that's not Korean 4-Gate. Korean 4-Gate is the version where you mine 52 gas for Warpgate research then never touch gas again, dump a bunch of Pylons straight in your enemy's main and warp in Zealots at will. It was rendered completely archaic by the Warpgate research time nerf of early 2011.

<3 chu Henry. I think it involves a roach push feign, offering enough roaches for T to need to respond, while deterring pushes out. Its a tight rope. probably min. 8 roaches and a spore placed in the right spot to deter drops.

Interestingly enough, I've been playing a lot of "gold terrans" which are clearly not meant to be gold, it makes me angry since they're doing the whole new hellbat thing and getting a banshee.
After making Masters, I fell off the game for a while, and just started saying fuck it, after busting myself down to bronze didn't work. It is funny as fuck to see some of that hellion control. You always have players of every race who think they're clever, I on the other hand, don't think I'm clever, I am just an asshole.
Self awareness is a good step to becoming a great player.
Recognize my love of trolling, and embrace it. Which is why, when piss drunk the other night, I opted for a 50 min SH game on KSJS, and just sat and giggled at 102 drones in the replay. XD
I need to be an asshole in more of my games since I think I take it a little too seriously sometimes.
Well, so long as you are an asshole in gameplay alone and not in chat.
I am a cuddly bear when it comes to chat. I always feel slightly hurt when someone insults on me on all chat.
You're not alone. Been there. Nowadays I just imagine/visualize/meditate that person's rage and sorrow and call it even.

I am too clever for my own good sometimes, but I would always be Batman. Depending on which universe though.... I mean there are some less than impressive runs.
I don't think TL knows what a colossal fucking Batman nerd I am though. How did that happen.

i'd say that build wise it's getting quite restricted nowadays (reaper, 15gas, gas first marine/hellion/medivac, gas first banshee), the beauty is more about the different ways you can play the same opening imo

didn't get that. Who has no car and why is that important?
Rotti commented on LA traffic, it is really an odd city, but the idea of public transportation is kind of shit. They have a subway, which apparently no one uses.
Chicago is a nice median of not having to own a car, and probably cheaper rent than LA in general. I would settle for them coming to Minneapolis though.

go for a zeal/stalker/msc attack, it's a pain to deal with if you're not tight with your build/scouting/micro

I mean in the professional sense.
I think it is more meaningful in PvZ, just because zealots hit the point of inutility much more quickly in PvT, all comes down to faster core, ergo faster tech or more gateways.

Best foreign terran is a title that has never worked out for any foreign terrans ever.
TZain please
It was posthumously given, just like when Jinro was good. No one thought he was good till after he beat Fruitdealer and by then the curse of best foreign Terran could no longer take effect.

The curse takes effect when you're on the rise up, not when you're already there before anyone knew about it.
They're doing this Loser's Match first format again. I don't like that as much. I think that the player who comes from the Winner's Match should get the extra time.

If you look at a list of the players in the first GSL season I recognize eight who are currently playing out of 64 and a few changed races like ByuN. It is amazing how consistent and enduring those few have been in the present.

Usually he beats a Korean terran first, loses to a protoss, and than loses the kr terran in the rematch. He beat the protoss and is now playing the Korean terran, so things are looking good.

Look at this player list teehee. Taeja/Polt/Maru are the only three on here that are still relevant pretty much. VETERANS
Although I miss Rainbow that guy was awesome.
Damn. Polts the most impressive though imo in that he was relevant and tip tier every single year whereas Taeja and Maru came into there own a little later. Still sick though
In my head I call them the first class. Though I'd argue MC and San are still relevant.
I missed San and edited my post to include Nestea. By relevant I meant tournament winning caliber so I didn't go with TLO or Losira although they both still play and are good.

Best foreign terran is a title that has never worked out for any foreign terrans ever.
TZain please
It was posthumously given, just like when Jinro was good. No one thought he was good till after he beat Fruitdealer and by then the curse of best foreign Terran could no longer take effect.
he was the best terran and the king in the north when he destroyed Polt

Players from GSL Open 1 that still play: Losira, MC, Nestea, TLO, Maru, Polt, Taeja, Check, and San. Also, 2 others are still "around" - Byun we all know, and TOP still streams and seems to show up at a lot of the Code A qualifiers.

It's crazy to think that San has been around for so long and only just won his first premier tournament at the beginning of this year.

Worst start of a career ever. He manner pyloned his own natural and by the time the regular seasons had come around, his average game time was less than 8 minutes because everyone kept beating him before thn.

Man, this bites. Wanted to watch Major play but I don't have time @_@
Hate this switch to loser's first. Family I have watching along wanted to see NA players so they're not terribly interested I'm what they're watching and that sucks.

yeah but if you look at Major's post earlier in the thread it definitely does seem like it could be a little worse for the person that loses second in the initial matches

I think I'd prefer winner's first so that way the person who loses the winner's match has time to regroup. I could see immediately losing and then being forced to play another bo3 putting players on tilt a bit. Although it is a bit more exciting to have two advancement matches back to back, I think.

I'm kind of iffy on him. He was definitely the premier chinese player in 2011. I guess if I look at his results he's still doing alright.

I don't remember too much about him but if I'm not mistaken it was him who knocked HerO out last season, so that's a pretty good feat right there.

Everyone knocks HerO out of WCS these days
But especially Huk and Xigua.
I kinda want HerO to lose out in Challenger decides he wants to play GSL and then lose to Sniper in the qualifiers.

Ever since he went out of WCS S1 he's disappeared. He hasn't even appeared in clan wars for them, it's really strange. No one on Root has talked about what happened I think. But he was doing really well before WCS

Courage did face and beat one Terran (who does not have an English screenname) in the ECL, and his Terran teammate, Loner, did pretty good in the 2v2s. So maybe he has some level of ZvT experience?

He's with Byun
According to Kespa authorities, fugitive Byun has teamed up with Sage to stay on the run. They have continued to still frustrate Kespa authorities. Upon hearing this, Rain declared an all out man hunt for both players with Sage being branded as the race traitor and a threat to all balance in SC2.
"1 Terran made it into the ro8, and if we're unlucky it could be 2!" Rain shook his head sadly, "I even sabotaged Gumiho's booth in SPL and he was still able to win. The Era of BL/infestor has truly returned."

Luckily for Rain it's impossible for him to meet a terran in the RO8. He's just going to win his group and lose to soOjwa instead.

Polt dividing MajOr's attention with his Bio threatening his main and Polt's BC/Raven/Viking fleet getting off good Seeker Missiles due to MajOr's attention focused on the Bio. Smart moves from Polt to divide his attention everywhere.

Seeker Missiles destroyed the majority of MajOr's Viking fleet and Polt's fleet overwhelmed it easily. Bio was cutting a large hole in MajOr's main and gradually broke into his production. Then Polt's air fleet supported by Bio defeated MajOr's army at the mid and won.

Gonna try to use this move in TvP on ladder from now on. Raven + bio. Protoss wants to ball up? Load a drop, when the drop is hitting, spam seeker missiles on a medivac or two, then suicide it into deathball when Protoss is distracted warping in zealots.

A lot of Zergs do that in ZvT too. You do a small runby and the Terran's eyes go home. Then you right click move your army around their army and by the time they react, your banes are on the army.
