I'll agree to that, but that has way more to do with the underdog story of MVP than it does with the quality of the overall games.
What made Innovation vs Taeja so memorable for me is that it was the highest level Mech vs Bio from competitors that were so fucking evenly matched.
It was such a high level game and it was so damn even.

TvZ is still the best matchup in my opinion. Bomber vs Scarlett, INnoVation vs DRG and Curious.
Just amazing.
Innovation vs DRG was IMO the best TvZ series of 2013. The only reason it wasn't placed higher was because of where it took place. There were no real stakes on the line so people forget about it.
But that flash of brilliance from DRG when Innovation was at the absolute peak of his powers........
Those games blow Scarlett vs Bomber out of the water in every way possible for me.
Whereas Scarlett vs bomber was exciting in large part thanks to the mistakes each player made, DRG and Innovation was the opposite.
It was amazing because DRG literally played perfectly. I don't think I've ever seen a ZvT played at that level again. It was like DRG had ascended to god status for an hour before coming back to earth.
I thought that too until I saw Curious go up against him. g3 was shit but the 2 before it were just....omg.
Both series had a lot of shock to them too. Curious and DRG were not doing well then they just went apeshit all of a sudden.
You're talking about Curious vs Innovation with that one crazy long game on Frost right?
That was a great series too, but what puts DRGs over that for me is that he beat Innovation at his own game with pure Zergling/Baneling/Muta
He beat him at Innovation's own game. He didn't have to go up to Hive tech to do it. Not that there's anything wrong with Hive tech, but there's something special about how DRG beat Innovation for me.

7:00 Soulkey 45 vs INnoVation 48 Zerglings poke, seeing hellions at home. 8 roaches and a lot of zerglings for Soulkey. Soulkey taking a third base. 2 engineering bays for Innovation at his natural. Innovation has 8 hellions.
8:00 Soulkey 78 vs INnoVation 63 6 workers from Innovation died but Soulkey was fended off pretty easily. Roaches still attacking the supply depots. Baneling nest and lair on the way.
