Well, don´t want to be offensive but this is easily the "worst" group in terms of players. At least in my opinion...

It's got the reigning ASUS ROG winner and two of the hottest new European talents, including one who has a legitimate claim to the title of best foreigner Terran. I'd say the players as a whole are solidly better than those in groups C, E, and F. Maybe G as well.

C, E and F have bigger names though, many of whom are well-known for their exciting gameplay. There's been some great moments out of the games I've seen, but not as exciting as Group C was.

Just tuned in so haven't seen the games, but before watching I'd say San is the second favourite (after jjakji) to take this WCS EU, he's really a top level player.

But playing from Korea makes him look much worse today. If he breaches the Great Wall of Lag then he will be one of the favourites from the Ro16 onwards.

In my imagination, they use a pitiful tone and commend the foreigner for only being supply blocked every so often.

LR San vs Miniraiser PvZ game 3 on Heavy Rain LE (2nd place decider)

Current score 1-1

San spawns at the top, Miniraiser at the bottom.
San keeps his trusted 13 gate 15 gas build.
Miniraiser takes a hatch first into 3 hatch before pool
San adds cybercore, Mini adds an early gas and pool after.
San starts warpgate and an expansion

Suprise suprise, 3 gates are added, aka the 'Sangate'
Miniraiser has lingspeed done however. But roachwarren is only just started at 6.30
Forward pylon is done, first zealot warpin + Msc
Chronoboost on the gateways, mass zealot warpins!
10+ zealots go towards the third, Miniraiser tries to defend with zerlings but the zealots hide in the minerals and timewarp.
Finally the roaches pop and.. he holds and goes back into droning.

9.30 67 protoss vs 75 zerg
+1 weapons researched for San, adding immortals. He takes a third with a hallucinated immortal :D
However 18 roaches and 40 zerglings are on the field for Miniraiser, moving out towards 3rd base.
Protoss army is small, 2 immortals and a few sentries.
Zerglings snipe an immortal but forcefields catch a LOT of roaches which are crushed trying to crawl away.
Now 111 protoss vs 112 zerg.
But muta's are coming, zerg up 130 with 10 mutas. Spire is scouted! Double stargate reaction

I bet not everyone is so nationalistic that they only root for players from their own country or people who look more like them.

i don't speak korean so i wouldn't know. that would annoy me too. it's not like they need to be unbiased but openly rooting is a little bit ridiculous

edit: probably just caught them at an inopportune time, they handled most of the game very well

Yeah, but trying to storm mutas is probably very hard with that kind of lag.

More mutas on the way. Phoenix production starts. 183 zerg vs 126 protoss however. 20 mutas vs 4 phoenix
Zerg goes up to 5 bases, protoss still on 3.
Zerg is maxed and attacks the 3rd, but photon overcharge kills a lot. Ground army is evaporated by immortal stalker, mutas have to retreat.
Miniraiser addding a lot of zerglings. Zealot harass by San. A few corruptors are added but phoenix range is now done and a healthy phoenix count.
Ling runby at third is stopped by simcity.
Still 5 base zerg vs 3 base protoss. Zerg is mass air + lings, but nothing to kill the stalkers! Another lost battle for Zerg, Miniraiser seems to have no answer to the phoenix+stalker.
180vs180 at 20 minutes.
They try a basetrade but both fail, too much static defense, however stalkers kill 2 bases still. LOL now the phoenix kill the mutas Nothing left for Miniraiser except some corruptors.

Feels like Miniraiser's army is on one hotkey T.T... Those corruptors aren't doing anything.
