Mmm.. Chicken salad sandwich served with Maru vs SK. This is going to be great.

What was the first Maru vs Soulkey like? Stomp, even, somewhere inbetween?

Yep, that's what I thought, too. The game would've changed a lot if the MSC didn't recall with like 5hp or so, but with the need to defend his 4th (hidden) base, there was no way the mutas could deal enough damage before tiple stargate phoenix kicks in. And I feel like phoenixes can actually counter corruptors if sent out with range. Yeah, when you survive until they come online with superior upgrades its kinda hard for the Z.

It's more like stargate is the overall safe option that's flexible enough to adapt to whatever tech the z happens to go for (or switch into).

Assumed Maru was meching, probably a stomp? Didn't watch it

Yeah. But they better do for how much they cost.

And how little else they counter (hydras in small numbers and that's pretty much it).

Maru looked really good killing bases, but took the wrong fourth which didn't deny the left side expos of soulkey and had slightly worse defense and splitting than soulkey so he lost after several counter attacks and zerg expansions dying -> rebuilding.

Pretty much this. Ever since WoL I think that the only purpose for corruptors is being morphed into brood lords. I mean, why in the hell would you ever play corruptors? Right, when you can't reach vipers. That's pretty much it (regarding zvp). They're just a bad unit, though I think corruption is a nice spell, with as much potential as contaminate ... lol

Psychoanalyst Brendan/brendon is best brendan/brendon.
I've always been of the opinion that Maru never gives any fucks.

It's quite important. Or to fight airtoss as an alternative to vipers.

Pretty sure it's a well established fact that corruptors are horribly underpowered. Doesn't mean phoenixes are OP.

Only point is to cushion for vipers and go for the game winning push against collosus when protoss has no air and you both have ground forces. Any other situation they are pretty terrible :/

Corruptors are horrible against everything except collosus and carriers ^^
