I think it's alright for the lack of a better term. If you don't do the sort of damage you're setting out for by committing to the attack, you'll be pushed behind by the consequences. Like say a blink/archon/charge 3 base timing would delay robotics/stargate tech for very long which will give you trouble dealing with an ultralisk army, taking a 4th base and dealing with tech switches. So you'd really have to get some damage in.
It may or may not have been Zest's plan this game, he did hit a (too late) timing but had 3/2 started behind it and got 2 robotics facilities up so he was at least set up to transition.

Yeah that is kind of true. Only top tier terrans like Maru, Flash and TY really come out in Proleague. At the same time, there is so many protoss players that are nowhere near Dear or Rain level.

Why field protoss at all? Its just an instant loss. Protoss should be banned from proleague so that it is eventually removed from the game.

Like Flash vs eMotion, for instance. I think Flash could have moved out earlier, so the timing window was larger than an ee han timing might allow for.
Well, he was waiting for his 3 Ghosts and +2 attack, so technically his window was not that large until the completion of Storm.

Yeah, I guess that might be true. I usually just think of it as a very, very prepared build to hit another typical build. Like that classic JD vs Stork (?) game where he flies in with his mutas seconds before the corsair group gets too big.

Solar had immense creep spread and Zest was confined to 3 bases with no collosus tech. He only had one attack to make it work, but sadly he didn't succeed.
