I don't think anyone agrees with you and even if we did you are bringing a lot of unnecessary hate and anger into a fun thread. This is not a life or death situation. We are trying to enjoy some games on a weekend. Watch the news if you want scripted seriousness

This make me think that most of people here are just watching to hear Sean and Dan's cheesy jokes rather than the actual game itself. Which is pretty disheartening.

Maybe people enjoy both.

Well you are obviously getting one of them.

this is an elite community of gamers. most of us know exactly what is going on at every point in the game simply by glancing at the production tab. there are very few surprises and the community really doesn't appreciate false hype as a result. most of us agree that the beauty of SC2 (and brood war) is the execution of extremely refined strategies (that we mostly know about) with what seems to be inhuman physical mechanics which comes from insane amounts of practice and sense of timings. the rest is just filler. you are just advocating more noise.

Well gee, I just hope that they would just try to explain these things to the audience...

One of the things Day9 talked about in his dailies is trying to cater to everyone, the people who know only the basics of SC2 should find some sort of information to glean from the casts without boring the guys like us who know what's going on from the production tab. You can't get 100% and each caster finds his own way of catering to as many as they can.

But what everyone can relate to is shitty jokes ^_^

Is that what he is trying nowadays? I remember that dailies were used to be him going into extreme nuances of the game in terms of build, timing, and decisions.

Even in the dailies he would say things like "X player is messing up, he hasn't produced enough drones" in a way that implies to people who might not understand everything in the commentary that you should constantly produce drones.

Not exactly, its a tradeoff. If you constantly try to produce drones, you won't have enough army for that huge lategame engagement. You might not even survive a push by opponent OR you may not even have enough resources to do so even. Zerg are played upon economical risks and awards. So no you shouldn't be CONSTANTLY producing drones but rather choose to so at appropriate pace.

If that's truly what the dailies are saying, then lulz to that.

I think the point is that both artosis and day9 constantly make statements regarding wichever players poisition they prefere and WHY, with simple words, upon the entrance of each phase of the game or after engagements. Its not like you need to be a veteran player to tell who is ahead when they cast...

Or probes. My point isn't the validity of the statement, my point is trying to get everyone to walk away with something extra, whether it's information from an educational daily or entertainment from an SC2 cast.

This make me think that most of people here are just watching to hear Sean and Dan's cheesy jokes rather than the actual game itself. Which is pretty disheartening.

this is an elite community of gamers. most of us know exactly what is going on at every point in the game simply by glancing at the production tab. there are very few surprises and the community really doesn't appreciate false hype as a result. most of us agree that the beauty of SC2 (and brood war) is the execution of extremely refined strategies (that we mostly know about) with what seems to be inhuman physical mechanics which comes from insane amounts of practice and sense of timings. the rest is just filler. you are just advocating more noise.

So no you shouldn't be CONSTANTLY producing drones but rather choose to so at appropriate pace.

haha yes please do teach us more strategy, we can all learn from you it seems

Thought that this was pretty rudimentary stuff but whateves...

Honestly there was a time when BL's showed up on the map and everyone took a moment to more the death of the poor guy playing the other race.

Its not stupid or a drivel. Just casual observation of the game.

If that's truly what the dailies are saying, then lulz to that.

Or probes. My point isn't the validity of the statement, my point is trying to get everyone to walk away with something extra, whether it's information from an educational daily or entertainment from an SC2 cast.

I just feel that the casts could drastically ameliorate. In the TI3, pretty much all the casters stayed on focus the majority of the time instead insert tiny fluffs there and there. And do you not think that they aren't trying to cater to new audiences? No they absolutely are!
