lol i think there must have been a mistake, seems weird to me too

And MC takes first place in prize money earnings!

the problem is that wining this thing duckdeok has proven that any random korean code A level can win wcs europe ! so its very hard for european viewer to digest that fact and they are very upset right now so yes this win was the worst thing possible but maybe it will be a kick in the nest and european will finally wake up ..
stephano retireing and random code A player get wcs eu victory ! we will have to wait a new excellent player with good mindset and dont count on naniwa to be that guy

They win everything, they halt EU and NA progress in sc2, they halt new EU and NA stars development. It;s one of the reasons LoL and DOTA are so much popular, it's just not interesting to watch tournaments, knowing that (insert random korean pro) will win the tournament. What fucking progress. NA and EU are miles behind because they don't do teamhouses, don't have designated coaches (not everyone at least), don't have practice partners whenever they want etc. They have created styles, sure. They have innovated on many strategical points in the game, but NA and EU have to work for success. I for one love the fact that we don't have segregation like LoL. Watching competition that is pampered in that way is no fun. If Europeans and Americans want to persevere, let them work for their fruits and so when they finally, win, they cry like duckdeok. That way, they are actually proud of their win. You dont understand basic economic incentives if you think Korea flooding NA/EU tournaments will do anything but wipe out that population of progamers, which will have the associated effect of making SC2 less popular in those regions. You also dont understand anything about economics if you think Korea doing anything but flooding the scene wasnt self evident and a product of economics itself. EU/NA players get ragged on simplistically for being worse as a product of laziness or something ridiculous, and its not the reason at all that they're behind, its at best a proximate cause. If it is not one of the reasons, what is it then? Koreans don't have an inherent skill of being the best at everything. They sacrifice. Blood and tears are shed. Look at duckdeok. His shit has finally paid off. I know this is bad for the EU scene because it might demotivate people, but if it demotivates you, YOU ARE NO CHAMPION. There are European and North American players that cause upsets all the time. THEY will become champions then. There is an inflation of Koreans and we should adopt them. Plain and simple. Asking them to retire by restricting them to a region that is as hard as that one IF they can play in an other region causes the skill of NA and EU to go down. Do you get me? I said it was a proximate cause but not the primary. The primary cause is that culturally, it is more accepted to be a progamer in korea, economically, it is dramatically more to the benefit of Koreans than a North American, it is that organizationally they are far beyond us, due a to decade headstart in esports, due to the economic and culture incentives, and due to plain and simple geography. Almost everyone in Korea lives in one damn city-- everyone in Korea speaks the same language. We have no means to replicate their successes and so they casually dick slap us aside. And we never will have the capacity to replicate their successes because we've allowed the european and north american scenes to die due to the opinions of idiots.

I find comfort in the thought that Grubby's PvP could keep up with the winner, and probably with MC's too!

congrats duckduck totally deserved it, because of the least won amount of money and failed in the first season :D
|
typical if I can't watch it gets epic. Grats duck deok ! and woo MC :o you'll take the Seasonals. (just like 2nd of the host country did last time)
|
I couldn't watch past Hasu v Welmu due to needing sleep (work today etc).
How were the games? Were they all good? Or were some especially better than others? MC vs DD seems to have been epic. Were they good PvPs? Man, I am so glad to see MC back on top again and competing hard (not to mention Grubby taking DD to the wire). The Protoss world is lacking without him kicking arse at the top level.
I'll have to catch the vods tomorrow.

I'll have to catch the vods tomorrow. MC vs DD were amazing games. Lots of mindgaming in the later stages. DD went toe to toe with MC in some of the games and there was good back and forth action. Must watch imo! DD vs Grubby was great as well. Also, must watch! Missed the Hasu vs Welmu games though etc...

I'll have to catch the vods tomorrow. Hasu vs Welmu was *slightly* one-sided unfortunately. the MC vs Duckdeok series was really pretty great, quite well played for the most part. Grubby vs Duckdeok was worth a watch as well.

I'm so sad that grubby lost, but grats to duck.

Welp, I was officially 0/9 on predictions this weekend GG
|
Low tier Koreans > S tier foreigners.
The same as it's always been, and the reason I'll never want region locked tourneys.
Grats to Finale.

I really doubt he could make Code S.
