Argh. Why on earth would they do this? It's like they haven't seen the developments in the scene in the last 3 years... Oh, wait. They haven't. I swear GOMTV didn't catch this flak when they did bo1 in 2011. Uh... You think they just randomly decided to change the format to Bo3s or what? I just think best of one has a place in professional games. Look at pro league and it brings out such amazing builds. Im excited for what the rest of this round may hold. Proleague is a team vs. team scenario. This isn't. Even then, I hate best-of-one in the Proleague format as well. The only time best-of-one is acceptable is when you're using an all-kill format. Bo1 is to me fine for the first game, you get the same ability to prep as you do for Proleague. I think having to play 2 matches vs potentially different opponents is a bit problematic.

I like this Bo1 format. Not taking that long, the games themselves are much more tense and interesting, more fun to watch imo. Also, upsets will happen, which is also interesting. This whole bandwagon of 'Bo1 s bad' is stupid. HotS not being as volatile as WoL also helps. Change is a good thing imo. OGN knows what they are doing, hopefully they don't change to Bo3 next OSL...

If you message someone on facebook and they're not online, do they get a pop-up when they come online or do they have to manually check your name for any new messages? How do they know? Popup. notification.

Difference is that SC2 is nowhere near as stable as BW was. Although HotS has definitely been better than WoL thus far. Of course it isn't. The meta game hasn't been mapped out over 10 years where a two seconds is the difference between a bunker being busted and SCVs holding with repair. I would say HOTS is as stable as it gets with a metagame this young, though. I don't think it was unexpected that Flash and Soulkey would advance, and I don't think that Soulkey lost to Yugioh because of an design issue. Yugioh had better compositions, engagements and upgrades and that's why he won that game.
That's a myth, the meta-game of BW took so long to map out because there where fewer tournaments and players overall and strategies and replays where ferociously guarded and kept secret, lastly BW was tons more mechanically demanding, so even if you had the superior build at times or a great cheese, it wouldn't matter if the other guy could just execute his standard strat better then you, so there was a ton more room for execution to matter. In SC2 at times you can see the meta advance by leaps and bounds, progressing in 1 month by what might have taken 1 year in BW.
His point still stands overall SC2 is more volatile then BW, it has gotten better a bit due to HoTS, but not by so much that I'd say BO1 is acceptable in the biggest and most prestigious tournament format to date.

I'm not hating this so far. I'm not enjoying those matches. Ever since the the last few months of WoL, SC2 was simply boring to watch. ZvP Metagame? Go 2base before zerg can reach BL/Winfestor. Let the game be decided (in case of late game) by splitting air units vs. vortex. ZvT Metagame? Kill zerg before he can reach BL/Winfestor. Go Mass Raven in Case. Let the game be decided by splitting air units. PvT Metagame? Either go Blink allin, or go Colossi->Templar and switch it around vs vikings and ghosts. PvP Metagame? 1base until Min 8, then go 3base and have one culminating fight. TvT Metagame? Mech vs Bio or Bio on Bio or Biomech on Biomech - that was actually interesting to watch! ZvZ Metagame? Ling/Bling into Roach/Hydra/Infestor into casual BL/Winfestor .... What now? ZvP Metagame didn't change too much. It's now swarm hosts instead of broodlords. ZvT Metagame didn't change too much. It's now lot's of mutas and sometimes roach/hydra. PvT Metagame didn't change at all, except stargate allins stronger than robo allins. PvP Metagame didn't change at all. TvT Metagame didn't change except for hellbats. Or well, you could call that a big change. ZvZ Metagame didn't change too much. It's now swarm hosts instead/before broodlords. ... So, give me one more reason to find any matchup except TvZ or TvT interesting. The one and only match I have seen in HotS that was really fun to watch and simply great and WP'ed was Life vs. Sjow yesterday, G3. Lol, I can tell that you have absolutely ZERO idea of what is going on with SC2. If you don't like it, don't watch; but don't come into the thread for a game you hate and act like you have ANY IDEA about what's occuring or what's different than at the end of the last expansion. The game is COMPLETELY different than WOL, and in fact is COMPLETELY different than the beginning of HOTS just three months ago. I like it, and I do watch pretty much. I'm playing masters on ladder, so I guess my game knowledge can't be that bad. If you think it's "COMPLETELY different than WOL", and that I do not have "ANY IDEA", then please, show me why. If I make a bad point, I can always say "oh well, I'm wrong". So, show me! If you think the PvP metagame hasn't changed since WoL you're clueless. The others are all way oversimplified/wrong too. Goes to show masters doesn't mean you understand/follow the game. Show me a change in metagame and I'll instantly apologize. Just show me.
go watch Bisu vs. Jangbi from Proleague this week.

DownTime QuestionTime :3 Basically the same music except until as late as you want (7 AM isn't rare to leave...), and they do throw in Kpop in there occasionally sure, of course. Largely western style in my experience, though. Oooo nice nice. Is it a big thing to do like it is in the western world to go "clubbing" and such? Not like i think there all strict and what not, but i just didn't see it mixing well culture wise to the younger sort of age group if they have so much pressure to study etc Wild Tastosis appear on GOM stream in front of DJ Yeah, Hongdae is like a 24/7 roskilde, or Sziget, or primavera. Also, they do it even better because they eat a lot of stuff so you get drunk much later on. I like to go out with Korean people they are the most likeable, social, and open minded crazy bunch I've ever lvied with. (Maybe just compared with the way we drank in Finland.) My friends who go to Roskilde only bitch about the thing that is.... the naughtiness and smell. It's disgusting... It is not like that right? If so, sounds like a fucking great area to live in when you are studying etc. Korea is pretty dirty in general. A few years back they removed many bins from the streets, to prevent people putting their shit next to them -- so now people just drop it away more randomly :D (I really love this story, have never factchecked it tho)
It's not smelly because people are dressed and are not "off" or on holiday, as you'd be on a festival. But there's some smells from all the waste, especially in hot weather, like we have now. Not a big matter tho, you arent spending that much time on the street - and even if you do (checking out all the young singer songwriters singing on the streets around is pretty cool with some beers/ice cream, dont think its unbearable. Naples is a lot worse, at least it was the last time I was there.
Yeah, Seoul is definitely one of the best places I've ever been to, really cheap and affordable too, topping many other great cities of the world. (I like travelling.)
