I think both players microed quite a lot in these fights. Target fire to snipe weak mutas and back off etc.

+1 attack gives you +1+1/3+1/9 damage on the 3 bounces, +1 armour is -3 damage vs 3 bounces.

what is always ignored is that the front mutas die faster with attack upgrades so they no longer deal damage, also its 50/50 cheaper


hmm front muta doesn't die faster because the armor negate the attack upgrade on the first attack but negates more than the upgrade on the bounces.

There is a fair point to be made though that 50/50 difference plus attack being better against other stuff still makes attack a good choice. Still some simple tests just show that +1 carapace flocks beats +1 attack flock quite well probably making up for the 50/50.
Of course there are quite many scenario's to test, lings absorbing damage die faster with attack upgrade. Overlords absorbing get better with carapace. etc.

maybe early on but I think targetting is better once they get down < 10?

depends on your playstyle, if you go for plus 1 attack like leenock just did, you want to single target mutas in many situations

Didn't watch the game but in most situation it was always a move because of spread of fire.

In lower numbers its sensible to target weaker mutas.

I agree PVP imo is the most boring mirror by quite a bit. I love the constant action of zvz. ALso we saw zero earlier try going swarm host in zvz lol. (didnt work out too well)

True, when you get to 25+ it's A move time. Those mostly were lower groupings and it's better to target specialy if you have the + attack. (as far as i know)

you target-fire with small groups of your muta cloud to not stack up too much
I think Leenock used target-fire with small groups of 2-3 mutas after the initial first and second volley
Just ahead of time, know your addiction's not a crime. It's just a smaller part of who you want to become in the end.

I think your right, if you target fire, doesnt it make your mutas clump, and thus vulnerable to the muta splash?

As others have said, first bounce is +1/3 and second bounce is +1/9.

Look, Mutas deal damage like this:
-100%
-first bounce 33%
-second bounce 11%

So, it does 9/3/1 damage to 3 targets. If you upgrade +1 attack, it does 10/3/1 damage to 3 targets. Only with +3 attack it does 12/4/1 because 33% of 12 is 4.
