At least mirror matches got a little better with expansion. Hopefully, NASL sound guy fixes the other issues and we should have at the very least, a mildly entertaining matchup.

It's mostly because of the imba maps they use in PL.
The quality of the Proleague has been super shoddy. Sound is horrible and most of the time Korean casters are heard over the English ones. You can barely hear these guys speak over the game sounds and the crackling as it is. For such a high profile league I expected a lot more.

zvz right now is basically sc:bw zvz which is...a sleep fest. PvP is still "i have 1 more unit so i win" wars

Wooki waited for so long that hOpe was able to build his roach count after over-droning. The over-droning before the push actually gave hOpe a chance because Wooki took so long to push into the third, and the economic boost and larva accumulation gave him a stronger army than he otherwise would have had. Wooki should have hallucinated a phoenix to scout the drone count so he would have known he could have pushed earlier.

tbh wooki's execution was horrible with almost no prism-micro whatsoever + his trademark offensive cannon which I simply don't get, the push is about hitting timings, cannon doesn't help much.

It's hard to hold immortal sentry when you let it get to your front door with the max amount of forcefields available. If hOpe had known earlier he would have made a round of speedlings to bait out forcefields and made more spines. Holding on to your natural is only ok if none of your drones die.

The Korean Stream is really good It goes.. "player comments before game" "player introductions" "game" "player ceremonies if any" "replay analysis" "interview" "next game"
but I'm guessing the eng casters arent able to do the analysis that well since they dont even have the obs on their side and the interviews would be awkward.

Scourge would be so good in sc2. It would make ZvZ more interesting and micro-intensive, you could use them against skytoss and colossus and get rid of the silly abduct ability from the viper. TvT might be a problem though; using scourge to take out vikings would make infestor broodlord pretty effective.

there is some "micro", e.g. you can prevent some mutas from hitting opponent's reinforcement - they appear from the flank and often attacking them results in no splash damage dealt because they're too far from the main mutaball.

I'd be happy if they just used the idea that the unit was coded to be locked to the ZvZ matchup. I'd actually look forward to ZvZ then.

Scourge vs Medivacs would be pretty sad. Just place them on the edges of the map.

Isn't this kind of why infestors would still help, even though fungals are dodged? Just by forcing mutas to move? Even Infested Terrans would press a player away from a position.
You know you're a little behind your opponent, so why throw into a muta engagement and just hope by some miracle you're ahead and don't lose half your flock? With an infestor, you can defend with some spores, so that even if they can dodge the fungal, the enemy mutas are still going to take punishment just for moving, which buys you some time ands avoid an engagement that you're going to lose.
I just don't understand seeing these completely predictable and game-ending muta battles. The KHAN player knew he was probably behind due to the early game, why just roll with the bad odds? At least try a fungal.

the "i automatically lose" timing window is too big if switching to infestors.

They had the solution to the mech. Warhounds. Except they made them too strong.

I just don't understand seeing these completely predictable and game-ending muta battles
the "i automatically lose" timing window is too big if switching to infestors.
I think if you defend with spores it's definitely do-able.
soo vs curious on daybreak is a good example, soo went infestors and curious had like double the amount of soo's mutas for a five minutes, spores wouldn't have helped.

The situation according to KR commentators. Monitors are off so the players dont see the replays. Once the monitors are turned on. The game will resume.

No - the point I was making is that Artosis is a less reliable source (because NHL is obviously far more popular than sc2), so it's worth being sceptical of his claim that Blizzard loses money on SC2.
Take command really fucked Flash hard. The situation they were in, the extra time was infinitely more beneficial to Reality. With the bio force, what he had to do next was much more open to options, he had time to figure out what the best one was. Flashes mech force doesn't have many choices, it's pretty much barrel forward and power through. Really shitty this happened, but I guess it's mildly better than a regame.

Look, maybe Flash was going to lose anyway (he was way behind in economy), but you have to admit that resume from replay greatly disadvantaged him. His greatest asset bar none is his impeccable game sense and improvisation, but if you give another player a good 10 minutes to reflect upon what to do, it evens the field out.
I do not understand why they did not recover game instead of doing the resume from replay. And what made it unfair? Did they resume sometime earlier than when the DC happened?

Mech in SC2 will always have a question mark as long as tanks are weaker than they were in BW and as long as there are units such as the marauder.
I felt when they nerfed them in the start of WoL that it was good, but now with all the other changes they should maybe buff them back to make mech more viable--unless someone comes up with some good mech strategy.

That is what I am unsure of to. They must not realize that right clicking replay - recover from game - put in time and resume from there and you don't have to turn off monitors and stuff.

Thats fine coz he was mech-ing and most of those supply is from the scv's he pulled from his nat when reality tried a runby. What lost flash the game was when he tried to split the map when he was outside reality's fourth. He tried to bring 3-4 tanks to the upperside so he can box reality to his side of the map but unfortunately reality had a small bio army going there and flash 3-4 tanks were killed for nothing, spreading him too thin.

Why can't there just be fucking LAN
Just wondering, how exactly would LAN save you from crashing computer?
btw, most of the disconnects that happened to SC2 were not afflicted by LAN at all. Problem with not having LAN is lagging in games, not disconnects...
I would say that at this point, it seems like Blizzard doesn't actually want Tank-focused strategies to be competitively powerful. That is really the only reason I can think of that they would keep "looking at mech" without actually attempting to make the Siege Tank stronger (and actually making it worse with other additions, like the Viper).
I actually put Flash on my anti team, so far it's perfect choice. I felt some kind of temp slump incoming and I was right about it. I think it's not over yet.

Could it be because SC2 requires a lot more computer resources so it is a lot easier for computer issues to pop up and cause disconnects? No, that doesn't make sense. Clearly its because evil blizzard won't give us the LAN.

Maybe because they were not using the operating system that crashes your game every time it decides it needs an update? Or thousands of other reasons that came with modern OS and HW?
I am not defending Blizzard for not including LAN (to be honest, I don't really care but whatever). What pisses me off is people, who have no clue about how technology works screaming "LAN" while it would not help anything. Just basic human ignorancy, that's what pisses me off.

Well that's interesting, the only BW game interruption that I can recall was the power surge that crashed Jaedong vs. Flash, but I can think of half a dozen disconnects in pro SC2.
Just basic human ignorancy, that's what pisses me off.
lan will rid of one whole portion of possible problems: internet connection and b.net instability. also, if you noticed the game feels better on single player because of latency and it'll be the same with lan

I wonder how many people would be claiming that Flash deserved the win right now if resume from replay didn't exist.
Read some of the posts people already are saying that resume from replay is why flash lost LOL.
Not to sound like a fanboy, but I agree with LightSpectra here.
Something else to note is that Flash was the one pushing and Reality is defending. You interrupt the guy attacking mid-push, you obviously break whatever momentum he had. A pause for the guy defending is actually advantageous because whatever disorienting panic he had while defending goes away and he regains composure.
This makes sense. That is a very unfortunate situation indeed. Let's just hope that the tournament organizers will try and learn from that incident.
Learn what exactly ? How should they have solved this according to you ?

Yeah your point is valid. I still think it's better than not being able to resume from replay at all, though.
Why can't there just be fucking LAN

Yes I agree. I just wanted to point out, that this (and for example also the famous MKP-Parting) disconnect would have happened regardless of having/not having LAN.

Hmm that's a good question. I guess that if it's a hardware issue then I think they need to get better hardware. If it's not a hardware issue, then I imagine they would need to change the rules so that the matches don't take 10 minutes to restart. I don't really have a lot of knowledge about tournament hosting, so the solutions I suggested may be totally off. Anyway I'm sure that something could have been done to prevent, or at least reduce the scale of the issue.

I didn't watch he was talking about that game but I assume he means the game against Jaedong in the 2009 Nate MSL finals. The game looked very even but the win was given to JD. Many are still of the opinion that a regame would have been the only right call.

Fair points and i would agree.. I just believe this is more unlucky circumstances instead of bad preperation or bad hardware. It's unfortunate that Flash and Reality had to wait to long, if proleague backstage can learn anything i am sure they will from this, it's just that there will always be things you can't prepare for and you have to do the best you can. I fully believe they did the most fair thing possible in the fastest speed.

tlpd says by.flash and no other names
this would be before he became a progamer or had any televised matches, so TLPD wouldn't have recorded it. but I'm going by memory so I could be completely wrong.

Flash's HotS TvZ is much, much better than his TvP. Also, RorO recently lost to Flash in the Special PL. So it makes sense to me.
Roro's performance in his code s group definitely shows he can take on flash.
True, could also be that JangBi's been training to snipe Flash, that Flash's TvP is his worst MU, or it could be January metagaming against Flash since he was probably preparing to play RorO.

MKP is weird because he also takes advantage of players who don't scout. He once double proxy raxed Sjow at essentially the bottom of his ramp. All Sjow had to do was send an scv down his own ramp and he would have spotted it but no * sighs* How can MKP abuse someone else's refusal to scout while at the same time refusing to scout himself?

He did hold a 6pool after going cc first so I dunno
(vs SuHosin on Ohana, iirc)
It was a 10 pool I believe and although that was impressive SuHo kind of fucked it up too.
Point is it is fine for Flash to throw away his games in GSL or whatever by not scouting and playing greedy. If he wants to be sent out for ace though he should learn to be a little safer as his whole team his depending on him.
It was hilarious either way
But yeah, not scouting properly in an ace match is just criminal. He knows he can outmacro anyone, even from slightly behind, so I don't know why he didn't bother to scout.

Well non-Flash KT players generally sucks in individual leagues, and their usual R1 performance is just as bad as this. They're lucky they actually did well R1 this season or else they would be at the bottom with EG-TL right now.
No man, 08-09 was more heart breaking as a fan. They never had a chance in proleague and SIX teams qualify for the playoffs back then, thats saying alot. Then theres flash constantly losing stupidly in individual leagues. No turrets against fake yellow, 14cc against kwanro, stupid game on that map with eggs on it against ggplay, 14cc every game against forgg. I remember it like it was yesterday, It was heart breaking and it also what makes 09-10 so sweet.
I mean, sure they are on a slump but they're still 5th place. They have a huge chance, unlike 08-09.
Also KT were ranked lower than motherfucking AIR FORCE ACE in 2010 once. Can't get any worse. lol.

They killed it r1 and r2. r3 and r4 have been terrible. 08-09...Idk.. Violet was tearing it up then, they just signed a MSL champion in forGG and luxury had his moments too in the past. KT players usually at least make the ro32 and lose in the dual tournament... not getting into Code A at a 1-35 record is the equivalent of..not getting through the qualifying rounds vs amateurs into either tournament by being knocked out in round 1. KT needs another terran.... They're like Prime such that..every damn team knows who they're going to send out every week. They have only 5 reliable players and they always have to throw one player like Myungsik or Motive to the wolves and pray they pull out a win.

Can't get any worse. lol.
Heart-breaking sure....but it still doesnt prove my point that this it the first time KT faced this much adversity. Find me a stretch where KT couldnt pull out more 1 game in a 10 game stretch. Also the most heart-breaking moment as a KT fan is not even 08-09 season...IMO its 1) Violet 2) Losing to SKT T1 4-3 3) 08-09 7th place

I learned that today too... but I learned it from watching GSL vods, Tastosis talked about it and they didn't know either and got fed that info. Pretty ironic timing.
Poor Flash... I think he is more affected by those disconnects and lag spikes than other players, you can just see him cursing blizzard for himself whenever it happens. It was the same in MLG.

3 bunkers + pull scvs. It's not that hard to hold actually.
You are wrong. If the toss plays correctly 3 bunkers with scvs in front and behind them will not hold, as shown last week in proleague. I think the terran needs 5 bunkers + stim to hold, unless he can get a seige tank out in time.

Almost unwatchable at this point. Ugh.
It's really bad, I'm surprised no one is complaining about it. In the Flying vs EffOrt match, the observer decided to star at a viper consuming a spine crawler for 15 seconds while a battle was occuring a screen away.
I knew it, KT sucks. One good player isnt enough for PL, maybe next round in allkill.
Their mediocre players perform really well in high pressure situations for whatever reason but generally the team isn't very impressive. I'll always cherish the Stats vs. Hydra where Stats was accidentally storming his own buildings and stuff.
*sigh* and I considered getting JangBi on my main for so long, but decided PvP is too risky and that RorO would probably get picked for ace matches...but nope.

It's one of those things.. Ace player wins: FUCK YEAH, BEASTMODE GO FLASH SO GOOD LOL NO ONE CAN BEAT HIM Ace player losses: WHY WOULD YOU SEND HIM OUT WTF COACH YOU SUCK
It's either a brillant or a train wreck idea for most people.

true, but the thing is KT is too predictable with their ace player. They should have predicted that Jangbi is the best player on Khan and a PvP would have been a better choice against Jangbi than Flash.

yeah, but its true Back then during the KTFlash days they had no one close to Flash's skills to step in for him but since they got Stats they really have a PL ace worthy player. But KT uses him so rarely.
