jupp bw muta was nice. We have this on Terran now, with Medivacs, get them low and the harassment stops. But Mutas work differently now. They can harass forever unless you kill them. So they need to give everyone units that can easily one shot Mutas or dominate them.

To late to change this now though. And they made Mutas work a bit in direct engagements atleast with an hit and run style which is something nice.

If Protoss only had a counter in air with more range and a higher speed .... hmmm.

And then Zerg makes a bunch of Corrupters to supplement their Mutas, or lands a Fungal on all your Phoenixes.

It's alright you can then simply go Voidray's.

He played rather ugly than bad. I mean cmon massing 50 mutas flying around, turtling with 200 spines, not taking expos etc and guess what abuser dies a horrible death. It would be a crime if DRG won tbh

The skill ceiling on hots is higher. It's normal we're watching these mistakes. Infestor+broodlord or stalker+colossus was much easier then MSC+stalker+HT micro VS roachhydra+mutas+vipers+infestors micro

The only reason DRG is in Code S is because he got in from WoL.
You will realize yourself when we get out the ""bad"" players what the true quality of code s is.

yeah 50 minute game last 30 minute was pure army maneuvering and hit and run and it's "free win"

get out, Flying played very good.

I'm not saying about this game. Flying played awesome, it was a cool game.

I just speak about pure SH games where the zerg is inactive with his swarmhosts and just siege up. These games are free win for the protoss.

I cannot find many problems with DRG's swarm host play except that misrally, which wasn't THAT big of a loss. You can't expect him to babysit them forever, especially when they get flanked or sandwiched and FFs cut off their retreat. They basically performed their role, a siege unit (when winning) or a unit that buys some time (defensively). It is hard to say if another Zerg could have used them significantly better. And no, they're not very good.

Game still shows however that PvZ is not the best matchup to watch. Spine forests are ridiculous; we can't keep having 50 min games with 30 mins of it being dancing around and picking off buildings one by one. And where landing storms don't matter, or the danger of it becoming a base race at any time.
There is no such thing is "e-sports". There is Brood War, and then there is crap for nerds.

Feels like they're more of a unit for lower level/casual players. Pros just seem to stutter step back, kill the locusts then a-move the hosts.

Actually, it feels like that those units aren't as easy to use as other Zerg units, and that majority of pros don't know how to use them. Didn't watch this game, I am at work, but from this thread, I've read that DRG was terrible at using Swarm Hosts.

Yes he was. Too inactive, where its a unit that needs to move a lot, launch a wave, move, launch a wave, move... Its pretty hard to use, but at my level (EU mid-master) i'm starting to get a hand on it.

Maybe because it takes too much time to be used too it, pro didnt start practicing it, thinking there are better units to use.

I know, I am the one that actually have faith in Swarm Hosts. :D
I love the unit.

Bullshit, I see pro after pro after pro after pro after pro losing 2-3 swarm hosts over and over and over and over and over again because they are unbelievably careless with them.

Pretty much this.
They need some serious babysitting.

But even if he wouldn't lose them the locusts die so fast they don't do any damage to a protoss deathball.

If he has a lot of Colossus, I agree, but that is where you need Vipers, abducting Colossi in the Locust wave, and after that Protoss army is unable to fight them, because he will constantly lose something for nothing.

I do wonder how many people who speaks about mistakes, or balance actually play the game. I used to have 3 army keybindings, now i have 6 and drives me crazy from time to time.

They don't do damage when the deathball is allowed to micro back. I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing infestors with swarmhosts.

So you are implying that you are better in using SHs then a Code S level Zerg or atleast have a better understanding of them? SHs are so expensive that they money you use on them would be much better invested into other units as SHs are useless once the Protoss has 2+ colossi in their army. (see locust -> step back -> a click -> all locusts dead without killing a single unit)

ok I see, but it wasn't pure sh here, he didn't achieve much with them thats true but they were just like 1/3 of his army

Probably to you, but fact remains that it does matter as long as ESF exists, otherwise ESF should just surrender all their teams to KeSPA.

Enjoy it while it lasts...
