They counter all Zerg air though. They really need that key fungal.

But with them mutalisk seem useless
Crappy design

Nah, I think Zerg need to get used to Infestors again and just aim the fungal.

ok so the phoenix outranges corruptors now? :D

They have the same range when the upgrade is in play I believe but a Phoenix can fire while moving and the Corruptor has to stand still and shoot which gives Phoenixes a pretty big advantage.

No, Corrupters have 6 range, Phoenixes have 7 with the upgrade, in addition to firing while moving and being much much faster.

That additional phoenix range seems uber-strong. Corruptors really can't get a bead on them, either, so between that and the void rays eating them alive, corruptors don't seem to counter anything Protoss has in the air anymore.

Yup. Glad these guys are pointing out how critical this hesitation from Violet was. He could have done a TON of damage to First had he attacked immediately. From there he could have expanded and used a superior economic advantage to tech up to hive.

But instead he waited, and by the time he attacked First already had a good number of Phoenixes and the range upgrade already on the way thereby completely wasting his huge investment he made into that Mutalisk flock.

Not to mention throwing away his hydras by amoving randomly into collosus.

Corrupters are insanely good against carriers and tempests.

I love how after 12 months of whining about Infestors, now people are suggesting maybe Infestors are the solution again. LOL.

Yeah we saw swarm hosts, vipers, "new" hydras and "new" mutas today zvp, sorry that's all there is for zerg^^.

Hope Violet still wins this!

Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Maybe they should make the phoenixes start with 4 range.
And make the range upgrade like armor/weapon 3X +1.
+1 being available at the cybernetic core and +2 and +3 only unlocked when fleet beacon is built.

The mutas successfully got him out of the Void Ray/Colossus invincible army at least. This composition is potentially defeatable, would've liked to see just a couple infestors mixed in.

Range phoenix look way too good against corruptors though, that should probably be looked at as I can't imagine they're intended to beat them.
