actually blinding cloud is really counterproductive vs bio since hydra outrange marines. Instead of half the army not shooting they walk towards you and increase dps. Its good vs tanks though. Vs pure bio infestor hydra roach is the way to go!

Are you insane? Blinding Cloud wrecks bio. Watch the games yesterday.

LOL... All bio needs to do is move out of the cloud. If Stephano follows, his army goes into his own cloud.

So you don't follow and wait for him to come back. Seriously watch all the MLG showdowns and also the games yesterday.

It's to early to whine about that, if zerg can't complain about Widow mines you should not complain about Blinding cloud.

not only that... the units will move out of the cloud without you doing anything at all... can someone confirm that its still the case?

The units will move forward, which is good for the zerg as they will come into melee range with roaches, leaving part of the bio army still under the cloud.

The correct response as terran is to kite back ASAP, but it usually results in taking a few free hits from the hydras anyway. This makes vipers a huge help in roach/hydra vs bio, both in battles and as a zoning tool.

Yup, I think they need to re-add the siege research.

I really don't think the tank needed that buff to begin with :x I mean, why? And I'm Terran.

To hold off early Zerg roach attacks I think is the reasoning.

Are roaches buffed? Can you get them quicker than before? If not, there is no reason, you can hold roach rushes off just fine right now.

Well, Mvp also developed a lot of the WoL metagame along with a couple other top korea terrans. He was one of the first to show how to macro and expand safely vs 2 base play that was very common in early 2011. Early bunker play vs zerg. He also showed the power of mass ghosts both in vP (EMP) and vZ (snipes). Was the top meching player in TvT, showed more BC play than any other terran, going hellion/banshee after the Queen buff. I could go on and on.

He was THE first successful macro terran. And then he developed cheese. He became unbeatable at that point.

Yeah I really like hots balance so far but this is probably the only thing that is really dumb.

I also agree, free siege is kinda silly.

Yeah, but they removed toilets from the factory so they could fit in the siege tech, so it is how it is

Zerg are just to get use to new early agression. Wait before talking about balance.

I thought the reason behind it was to make mech/tech builds better in TvP o-o

I think it was vs the early MsC pressure from protoss. Early gateway pressure (before stim) was already strong in WoL, with msc, it would have been almost impossible to hold so having early siege tanks help with that.

Yeah...The combination of reapers, hellions, widow mines and free siege looks like just too much. 2 or 3 of those things I can see being okay, but they've given everything to Terran all at once again like the beginning of WoL and they're going to need to nerf it back down. Right now T in HotS seems to be able to harass with impunity, then be safe from any counter-pressure, and transition into a midgame with buffed medivacs, a better economy than you'd ever have in WoL, and a more damaged Zerg than you'd ever have in WoL.

It remains to be seen what the endgame is like, but they definitely seem to be better off than they are in WoL.

Yeah, tbh it's too early to say anything about balance. Everything is just too uncertain. Maybe a pro will find out a compositoin or timing tomorrow that will revolutionise everything in the metagame.

I think the tank buff is fine, albeit a bit random. Widow mines seem a bit too good too fast. Maybe make it require an Armory just so they get delayed somewhat so the proxies are more of a risk. That said MVP is still the best player in SC2.

At the start he was one of the best marine tank players, but as time passed, he started meching more and more.

Yeah the list is pretty staggering when you start talking about Mvp's affect on WoL metagame. Would make a great TLFE. :o

And that's just metagame influence, you could delve into skill in other areas, such as the marine/tank control and micro in 2011, mindgames, and so forth.
