Hard to say, but I think it'd go to a fairly normal game where life would still have an edge. (I'm guessing he was up on workers, and he already had an infestation pit out so...)

Killing a hatchery then going home doesn't put you ahead.
It does if you stay a little while to delay third while getting your own third and teching up.

This isn't the first game I've seen this, another zerg (can't remember who) won against Hero after giving up his third, massing infestors then retaking it. As long as the drones are moved from the third early and they don't throw away units they'll end up ahead. Most zergs are just too stubborn about trying to save the third though.

He is almost guaranteed to kill the third, and if he would just fall back and take his own third he would be ahead. If he could do that and be ahead PvZ would most likely be broken. You actually can't afford to do that, You have to kill the zerg with it, otherwise your tech becomes outdated and you have nothing to answer for the swarm of units coming for you immediately afterwards.

so much whining going on..

Standard LR, both sides whine and then there's the people whining about the whining. And the people whining about the people whining about the people whining!

See? All the retards and zerg tears who thought this game needs to be nerfed just because one player makes one build perfectly with godly micro. Because fuck thinking and figuring the actual way to defend it, QQ'ing is so much more fun! Like there hasn't been any powerful builds before, which needed time to figure out how to defend them.
WHOAH LIFE DEFENDED, what do you say now?

As am I, I wasn't saying you are one of people whining, I was describing that this isn't really that incredible of an LR at all.
Also 'son', really? D:

Anyway, PvZ man. I'll stop complaining. Great play from both players. Nice hold by Life. I wasn't sure if he could transition out of it but great engagement to kill the first colo. That was huge.
A GSL champion to combat with another GSL champion? Holy shit batman, somebody give this man an award.

Well it was great by Life, but I feel that Parting should've went back with his army after sniping the third when he saw infestors+spines. He would have been in a better position, if not in a lead.

People still crying about infestors and how they even counter this all-in? Get your head out of your ass, Life had to sacrifice a lot to be able to get the infestors and actually had to have incredible micro to be able to defend.
It's the 2 best players in the world playing, your whining isn't valid.

I respectively disagree. It depends on the situation. At the highest levels progamers exploit every opportunity they have to win. Be it to push ahead or retreat for a stronger army. In this scenario i think it would have been better for Parting to retreat but it isn't a decision that should always be made blindly imo.

Was anyone complaining about that?
All I saw was comeuppance for the poor, helpless Zergs claiming that they were dead if they went 3 hatch and dead if they went 2 base.
It's been going on for PartinG's entire run, and none of them would admit any sort of change might work.

I say if Parting elevators into the main as soon as he sees the spine wall he wins. Instead he suicided half his army into the spines and then tried to elevator.

It just can't be stopped if you take a third and don't put yourself at a major disadvantage if your opponent just decides to take a third instead of pushing.
Right. No one calls it the unstopppable immortal sentry all-in in your world. Sure.
